Quick facts
A compact N coil to cool a small home
What the ENA4X18L14A is
The ENA4X18L14A is the smallest N coil in Arcoaire’s ENA4X series: 1.5 tons (18,000 BTU/h), R-410A. It comes uncased, meaning without a sheet-metal cabinet. The installer places it in the plenum, the duct section just above an electric furnace or air handler in upflow, or just below it in downflow.
The TXV is bolted on at the factory and its equalizer tube is already brazed in. The main tubing and the fins are aluminum, with copper stubs for connecting the refrigerant lines. The coil also has two condensate drain connections, which leaves a choice of drain side.
Who it suits
This size suits small homes, condos with ductwork and additions served by their own system. It is mainly used in two situations: adding central air conditioning to an electric furnace that already heats the house, or replacing an uncased R-410A coil in an existing plenum. At 17 lb (8 kg) shipping weight, it is easy to handle, even in a cluttered basement. Contractors will also find it an easy coil to fit into a custom-built plenum.
In a local home
Many homes in Montreal and Laval are heated by an electric furnace connected to ductwork. To cool them, an outdoor unit and a coil set on the furnace are added: the air already blown through the ducts then passes through the cold coil. The ICP sheet gives an airflow range of 525 to 625 CFM for this size; the furnace blower must be able to deliver it, a point we always check.
The ICP sheet does not state use with a heat pump. If that is your project, we confirm the match with the outdoor unit before ordering.
Our installation
After a free on-site estimate, you receive a written quote. We measure the plenum, fit the sheet metal to the coil, braze the refrigerant lines, connect the condensate drain, run the leak test and the evacuation, then commission the system. AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 in ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work.
Warranty and availability
Arcoaire grants a 5-year limited parts warranty, extended by an additional 5 years with timely registration, for owner-occupied homes. This model is available while supplies last. Sold alone, it is not eligible for the LogisVert grant.

The coil that slips into the plenum
The ENA4X18L14A has no cabinet: it goes into the plenum, above an electric furnace or air handler in upflow, or below it in downflow. It connects to an R-410A outdoor unit of the same capacity.
- Adding 1.5-ton central air conditioning to an existing electric furnace
- Replacing an uncased R-410A coil in a plenum already in place
- Small homes, condos and additions served by ductwork
- Upflow or downflow installations

Frequently asked questions
What is an uncased coil?
It is a coil delivered without a sheet-metal cabinet. It goes into the plenum, the duct section just above or below the furnace or air handler. We adapt that plenum on site.
Does it work with a heat pump?
The ICP spec sheet does not say so for this model. Before any order, we check the match with your outdoor unit.
Is the metering device already installed?
Yes. The TXV is bolted on at the factory and its equalizer tube is already brazed in.
What airflow does this coil need?
The ICP sheet gives a range of 525 to 625 CFM for this size. We check that the blower in your furnace or air handler can deliver it.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No. Sold alone, a coil is not eligible for the LogisVert grant.
