At AirGreen, to calculate the LogisVert aid based on BTU/h at -8 °C , you use the heating capacity (in BTU/h ) at -8 °C and you apply the formula per 1000 BTU/h.
Calculation of aid at -8 °C
Financial aid is calculated per 1000 BTU/h at -8 °C :
-
$50/1000 BTU/h at -8°C for an ENERGY STAR® certified heat pump
-
$120/1000 BTU/h at -8°C if the heat pump is a "cold climate" type
Formula:
-
Aid = (Capacity at -8°C in BTU/h ÷ 1000) × $50 or $120
Example calculation (to illustrate the method):
-
If your documentation indicates 24,000 BTU/h at -8 °C :
-
24 × $50 = $1,200 ( ENERGY STAR® case)
-
24 × $120 = $2,880 (case "cold climate" )
-
Where to find the “BTU/h at -8 °C” value to use
The guide does not provide the BTU/h value at -8 °C for each model: you must find it in your evidence and documents:
-
Manufacturer's documentation (technical data sheet) indicating the heating capacity at -8°C
-
References related to AHRI / ENERGY STAR® if your template documents refer to it
-
Invoice and documents provided at the time of purchase/installation (often associated with the AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number)
If you cannot find it clearly, centralize your information (exact model, AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number) and validate it via the logisvert.ca portal or with support at 1 833 396-1888 .
Technical conditions that influence eligibility
For an “efficient” heat pump, the complete system (outdoor unit + indoor unit(s)) must, in particular:
-
be new and ENERGY STAR® certified
-
have an outdoor unit with a minimum rated power (air conditioning) of 12,000 BTU/h
-
to be purchased in Quebec (or online from a company with a Quebec address)
-
be installed in an eligible dwelling whose main heating is electric
Important to remember regarding the date:
-
Heat pumps installed on or after November 26, 2025 must be ENERGY STAR® certified
-
Installations completed before November 26, 2025 are treated according to the list of devices in effect at the time of installation.
Documents to prepare and deadlines
In your application on logisvert.ca , your invoices must demonstrate that they have been paid and include, in particular:
-
invoice number and date, installation date, name/address
-
GST/QST numbers, RBQ company license number
-
Product description and eligible work
-
AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number
-
Clear photo of the outdoor unit's rating plate showing the ENERGY STAR® symbol (and model/series)
Deadlines to be met:
-
The request must be submitted no later than 9 months after the date the measure was implemented.
-
Notification of incompleteness/ineligibility may be given within approximately 20 business days.
-
Processing time of 10 to 12 weeks (from the date of a complete application)
-
Hydro-Québec can request access to the dwelling within 6 months of the request
Depending on your situation, information may be required for the RL-27: NEQ , TVQ or NAS (transmitted securely after instructions received).
