Heat pump for "cold climates": LogisVert subsidy $120/1000? (2026)

At AirGreen, we confirm that LogisVert can pay $120/1000 BTU/h at -8°C if your heat pump is of the "cold climate" type, provided that all the program requirements are met.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the "efficient heat pump" financial assistance, the complete system (outdoor unit + one or more indoor units) must, in particular:

  • be new and ENERGY STAR® certified (if installed on or after November 26, 2025 );

  • include an outdoor unit with a minimum rated power (in air conditioning) of 12,000 BTU/h ;

  • having been purchased in Quebec (or online from a company with an address in Quebec);

  • be installed in an eligible dwelling whose main heating is electric.

Note: Installations carried out before November 26, 2025 are treated according to the list of devices in force at the time of installation.

Financial assistance for "cold climate" situations: $120/1000

  • Standard subsidy: $50/1000 BTU/h at -8°C ( ENERGY STAR® certified heat pump).

  • If the heat pump is of the "cold climate" type: $120/1000 BTU/h at -8 °C .

The program does not specify here how to formally recognize the mention "cold climate" : in practice, this information must be checked in the equipment documentation (and the proof kept) and, if necessary, validated via the AHRI / ENERGY STAR® references appearing in the documents in your file.

Technical requirements to check (where to find the information)

  • The value used to calculate the aid is the capacity in BTU/h at -8 °C : it is usually found in the manufacturer's performance documentation and/or the datasheets associated with AHRI / ENERGY STAR® references.

  • The minimum rated power of the outdoor unit in air conditioning must reach 12,000 BTU/h : check the technical data sheet of the model and the documents provided at the time of purchase/installation.

Works and licenses
The work must be for the installation of an ENERGY STAR® heat pump for heating and cooling purposes, and the company performing the work must:

  • be registered with the Quebec Enterprise Registrar;

  • hold the appropriate RBQ licenses (given the work to be done);

  • to be a member of the corporation in one's sector of activity.
