YORK R Series ceiling cassette: 4-way discharge, up to 20 SEER, recessed in the ceiling
The 4-way cassette is recessed into the ceiling: only a square panel shows. At 24,000 and 30,000 BTU/h it is rated 20 SEER, the only R Series form at that level. Six sizes, from 18,000 to 48,000 BTU/h, with a built-in condensate pump.

- The cassette body sits above the ceiling: from 26.5 × 9.5 × 23.5 in. (18,000 BTU/h) to 40 × 11.5 × 35.8 in. (48,000 BTU/h), as printed by YORK; the 42,000 BTU/h is the tallest, at 39 × 12.5 × 38 in.
- For the 42,000 BTU/h, the catalogue names the PNLR04 but prints a 41 in. size: we confirm the panel when ordering.
- The ceiling cut-out is not published in the YORK documents we read: we confirm it on site.

Built-in condensate pump
“Internal condensate drain pump”: the cassette lifts its own condensate water to a 1 in. drain.
4-way discharge
Air leaves from all four sides of the panel, with a swing louver, to spread it through the room.

Which YORK cassette is the most efficient?
The 24,000 and 30,000 BTU/h ones: 20 SEER, the only R Series units at that rating. The four other sizes are rated 16.
What kind of ceiling does it need?
A ceiling with enough space above it to hold the cassette body; only the square panel, 26.5 to 44 in. depending on size, stays visible. We confirm the space and access at the visit.
Where does the condensate water go?
A built-in pump lifts it to a 1 in. drain; we plan the drain route at the visit.
How cold does the cassette heat?
Down to −18 °C (0 °F), per the range YORK publishes for the R Series. In Montreal it gets colder on at least 14 days a year: we plan backup heat.
