LG consoles: the heat pump low on the wall, 9,000 to 15,000 BTU/h
6 LG consoles for sale, three in R-32 and three in R-410A. LG calls this format the “Low Wall Console”: the head sits low on the wall, where a wall unit has no room up high, under a window, in a basement or in an attic bedroom. The 9,000 and 12,000 BTU/h are single-zone systems; the 15,000 is a multi-zone head only.

Why no console has an amount
The “12,000” title follows LG’s size class. The certification gives 10,200 BTU/h of cooling, R-32 and R-410A alike, and 13,000 BTU/h of heating at 8.3°C for the R-32.
Size by size
- 9,000: under the 12,000 BTU/h minimum, even with the Cold Climate mark.
- 12,000: certified at 10,200 BTU/h of cooling, so under the minimum as well.
- 15,000: a head has no AHRI number of its own. On a multi-zone system the outdoor unit is certified, and we check eligibility of the complete system with Hydro-Québec.
The program rules are on the LG page.
Down to −20°C, then backup heat
LG rates heating down to −20°C for its R-32 consoles, and there is no LGRED° console. Montréal-Trudeau averages 12 days a year below −20°C (1991-2020 normals): on those days the room needs backup heat.
- 9,200 BTU/hat −20°C for the 9,000 KNUQB091A console (COP 2.07), certified by NEEP
- 10,000 BTU/hat −20°C for the 12,000 KNUQB121A console (COP 2.11), certified by NEEP
- 4 of 4console systems certified ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, the KNUQB since April 17, 2026, the LQN since March 9, 2026
Options, remotes and place in a multi-zone
What LG lists for the R-32 console
- Wind baffle ZLABGP01A: cooling down to −20°C.
- Drain pan heater PQSH1202.

Multi-zone and the R-410A console
- LG publishes the KNMQB151A only as a Multi F indoor unit, wired “from the outdoor unit or branch distribution unit”.
- LG’s R-32 combination tables accept the 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000 BTU/h console on Multi F MAX and Multi F LGRED° outdoor units.
- R-410A console cabinet: 27-9/16 × 23-5/8 × 8-9/32 in., 35.9 lb, 1/4 and 3/8 in. lines (LG Canada 2023 brochure).
“Console de plancher” (floor console) is how we describe it in French: it sits low on the wall, near the floor. LG simply says “Console”.
