LG sells its multi-zone systems under four names: Multi F, Multi F MAX and their LGRED° versions. The name tells you two things: how many rooms one outdoor unit can heat (2 to 8) and how cold it keeps heating (−20°C or −25°C, per LG’s spec sheets). Every figure on this page comes from LG’s documents, NEEP, Environment Canada and Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert list of October 14, 2026.

Multi F runs each room straight to the outdoor unit. Multi F MAX goes through one or two branch distribution boxes, which is how it reaches 8 heads. LGRED° is LG’s name for its cold-climate heating.

One main line to one or two branch distribution boxes, then one line per room.
Multi F direct piping, with LG’s LGRED° cold-climate heating technology.
Multi F MAX distribution boxes, with LGRED°.
The names are those of LG’s documents: Multi F, Multi F MAX, Multi F with LGRED°, Multi F MAX with LGRED°. Head capacity: the mix-and-match ranges in LG’s combination manuals (2026). Heating: the operating ranges on LG’s spec sheets (−4°F and −13°F, wet bulb).
Pick the number of indoor heads. The list keeps the R-32 outdoor units LG allows for that count, with their certified maximum output in deep cold and the indicative LogisVert amount.

No LGRED° outdoor unit takes that many rooms. Turn off the LGRED° filter or call us.
LG’s rules: at least two heads per outdoor unit. On a Multi F MAX the heads must add up to at least 18,000 BTU/h, so two 7,000 BTU/h heads are not enough. Output: NEEP certified maximums at −15°C (5°F) and at the coldest test point. Amounts: Hydro-Québec’s list of October 14, 2026, to be confirmed by Hydro-Québec.

Standard Multi F and Multi F MAX heat down to −20°C, the LGRED° versions down to −25°C (LG spec sheets). The published operating range stops there: on colder nights the house needs backup heat. With an LGRED°, those nights are rarer.

Hydro-Québec pays $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of certified output at −8°C for a unit with ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certification, and $50 otherwise (participation guide, version 1.10). The six R-32 LGRED° units are Cold Climate certified; the seven standard Multi F and Multi F MAX are not.

The full program rules (12,000 BTU/h minimum, 9-month deadline, invoice showing the AHRI and RBQ numbers) are explained once on the LG page.
LG rates every head combination separately: for the KUMXB181A alone, its R-32 combination manual gives SEER2 22.5 with two wall heads and 18.5 with two ducted heads.
Each LG multi-zone product page carries the AHRI number of its outdoor unit. NEEP files these 13 R-32 certificates as “Multizone All Non-Ducted”: they describe a system built with ductless heads such as wall units. With ducted heads or cassettes the real efficiency changes, and we work it out on the quote with the heads you choose.

Three R-410A Multi F with LGRED° units are on the October 14, 2026 LogisVert list: LMU180HHV ($1,764), LMU240HHV ($2,088), LMU300HHV ($2,268).
The other R-410A multi-zone units in our catalogue (LMU180HV, LMU240HV, LMU30CHV, LMU36CHV, LMU360HHV, LMU420HHV, LMU480HV, LMU600HV) are not on it and were not listed by ENERGY STAR that day, so they carry no LogisVert amount. For a new project, the R-32 range above is the one LG documents today.
No LG multi-zone job is published in our project gallery yet: the 26 LG jobs online are wall units and one console.

Hydro-Québec does not solicit anyone by phone or door to door for LogisVert. A call “from Hydro-Québec” selling a heat pump? Hang up.
LogisVert amounts are indicative: Hydro-Québec confirms them when you apply. Prices on quote.
