LG seven-zone heat pump: four units, and every head size counts
LG has no “Seven-Zone” unit: seven rooms run on its four Eight-Zone units, the KUMXB481A, KUMXB541A, KUMXB601A and KUMXA481A. Here every head size counts. Seven 12,000 heads make 84,000 BTU/h, more than the ceiling of any LG unit, and on a 48,000 a single 12,000 already forces another head down to 7,000.

No Seven-Zone at LG
LG’s manuals name its units Dual-, Tri-, Quad-, Five-, Six- and Eight-Zone. None stops at seven heads: the four units allowed all go up to eight.
Seven is also the first count the KUMXA421A no longer covers. The KUMXA481A becomes the only possible LGRED°: 48,000 BTU/h, certified down to −25°C, $4,200 indicative.

Seven heads: test your mix
The tool opens on the KUMXB541A with three 12,000s and four 9,000s, or 72,000 against a 73,000 ceiling. Turn one 9,000 into a 12,000 and the total goes over.

Each branch can run up to 15 m, but all of them together stay within 90 m (295.3 ft): 42.2 ft, or 12.9 m, on average at most. Seven is the first count where the branches cannot all reach 15 m. Distant heads are offset by heads close to their box.
Limits read on LG’s KUMXB601A spec sheet. For the KUMXB481A, KUMXB541A and KUMXA481A, whose sheets we have not read, we presume them identical and check them on the quote.
Two boxes, seven ports
Seven heads take seven ports: a 4-port box (PMBD3640ZR or PMBD3641ZR) and a 3-port box (PMBD3630ZR) make the exact count, on the ARBLN03321 Y-branch.
Two 4-port boxes would leave one port free. The LG documents read do not say whether that is allowed, so we confirm it before installation.

The KUMXB481A, at $1,690, is the only one of the 7-zone collection’s three listings on the LogisVert list of October 27, 2026. The R-410A LMU480HV and LMU600HV have no NEEP, ENERGY STAR or Hydro-Québec record.

The store titles the KUMXB481A “Multi F” and the LMU480HV and LMU600HV “MULTI F”. LG files the KUMXB481A under Multi F MAX; for the two R-410A units, no LG document read confirms the family.

Does LG make a “Seven-Zone” unit?
No. Seven heads connect to one of LG’s four Eight-Zone units: KUMXB481A, KUMXB541A, KUMXB601A or KUMXA481A. All of them take up to eight heads.
Are seven 12,000 BTU/h heads possible?
No: 84,000 BTU/h passes the 81,000 of the KUMXB601A, LG’s largest unit. It takes at most six 12,000s and one 9,000.
Can all seven heads be 15 m from their box?
No. Each branch can run up to 15 m, but LG limits the total to 90 m: 12.9 m on average at most for seven heads.
Which LGRED° unit handles seven rooms?
The KUMXA481A, the only LGRED° that goes to seven heads: 48,000 BTU/h, up to 65,000 of connected heads, $4,200 indicative LogisVert. Its seven-head listing is outside this collection.
