01 // The tool
Five sizes, one ladder. Pick a size: published heat, head, dehumidification, air throw, refrigerant lines and circuit update. The 36,000 is outlined: it does not follow the same rules.
Size
Values published in the July 2020 COMFORTMAKER catalogue (tables pp. 20–24). The share of the −15 °C maximum over the 8.3 °C rated heat is an AirGreen calculation, made on the published value, not on the size name.
12,100BTU/h
at most, at −15 °C
The 12,000 publishes up to 12,100 BTU/h at −15 °C, which is 101% of its rated heat at 8.3 °C (AirGreen calculation).

SEER and HSPF on the pre-2023 test basis. MCA: minimum circuit ampacity; max fuse: the largest fuse or breaker allowed (printed as MOCP in the ductless catalogue).

05 // Good to know
Published heating range down to −25 °C instead of −30 °C, 50 m of refrigerant lines in the catalogue instead of 25 to 30 m, a 1,350 mm head and 4.17 L/h of dehumidification. At −15 °C, it publishes up to 23,400 BTU/h, barely more than the 24,000 (23,300 BTU/h).
The first four sizes publish a heating range down to −30 °C, where the brand states, for the series, up to 69% of rated capacity. The catalogue also says the 12,000 and 18,000 keep 100% of their heating capacity at −15 °C.
Wi-Fi is added with the KSAIF0501AAA kit, sold as an accessory. Two wired wall controls are offered as options: KSACN0101AAA (timer) and KSACN0401AAA (7-day programmable).

07 // Questions
The size is chosen during the free on-site assessment. The size ladder shows what each one publishes: at −15 °C, for example, the 12,000 publishes up to 12,100 BTU/h and the 18,000, 20,700 BTU/h.
From 9,000 to 24,000 BTU/h, its published heating range goes down to −30 °C, where the brand states up to 69% of rated capacity; the 36,000 stops at −25 °C. In Montreal, the 1981–2010 normals (station 7025250) give an average daily minimum of −14.0 °C in January and 0.27 days a year below −30 °C.
The 9,000 head publishes 24.7 dB(A), the lowest value of the three wall series; the other sizes start between 26.1 and 34.8 dB(A). Outside, the catalogue publishes 54.6 to 61.0 dB(A). Québec.ca (“Noise measurement”, updated June 16, 2022) puts 40 dB(A) at “library, refrigerator, a quiet street at night”, “a peaceful area”, and 50 dB(A) at “moderate rain, washing machine”, “the beginning of disturbance”. COMFORTMAKER does not publish the test conditions, so the comparison is only a guide.
No. It is added with the KSAIF0501AAA kit, sold as an accessory. Tell us during the assessment and it goes on the quotation.
10 years on parts (limited warranty) when the unit is registered within 90 days of installation, otherwise 5 years, for the original owner in residential use. COMFORTMAKER does not cover labour.
The price is on quotation, after the on-site assessment: the size and the refrigerant line length change the job. The assessment is free and comes with no obligation.
AirGreen calculations (kW conversions, sums, percentage shares) are made on the published values and labelled as such.
