Sharp TU: the R-410A wall unit we still install and service.
Four sizes, from 12,000 to 24,000 BTU/h. It predates Sharp’s switch to R-32: no ENERGY STAR certification, not on the LogisVert list, and the Sharp documents we checked don’t give its cold-weather heating limit. Own one? We take care of it, in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore and the North Shore. Looking for one? We also show you the CU, with $1,800 to $2,688 in LogisVert.

The TU runs on R-410A. Here’s what that changes, and what it doesn’t.
Your TU works as before. What changes is the context: R-410A is an HFC that Canada is phasing down in steps, and Sharp’s current series have moved to R-32.
Global warming potential (100 years)
100-year global warming potential: about three times lower for R-32.
What’s in R-410A
R-410A is a blend, half R-32 and half R-125. Current Sharps use R-32 alone.

LogisVert: the TU is not on the list.
We looked up every AHRI number on our product pages in Hydro-Québec’s tool on October 6, 2026. Every Sharp on the list is rated cold climate: $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heat at -8°C.
Since November 26, 2025, only an ENERGY STAR certified system is eligible.
The outdoor unit must have a rated capacity of at least 12,000 BTU/h.
The grant never exceeds 100% of the pre-tax cost.
Deadline to apply: 9 months after installation (LogisVert guide, version 1.10).
22,400 BTU/h at -8°C × $120 per 1,000 BTU/h = $2,688

Yes, it remains in the catalogue in 12,000, 15,000, 18,000 and 24,000 BTU/h. Sharp’s current series are the CHU, CU, FilterSweep and Airest; the ZU1 and ZHU1 are still offered.
Not as of October 6, 2026: its AHRI numbers are not on Hydro-Québec’s list, and since November 26, 2025, only an ENERGY STAR certified system is eligible.
The Sharp documents checked for this page don’t state it for the TU, and it is not on the NEEP cold-climate list. We check it at the free visit.
The CU is Sharp’s current series: R-32, ENERGY STAR certified, on the LogisVert list ($1,800 to $2,688) and heating down to -30°C from 15,000 up, according to Sharp.
The Sharp manuals checked for this page cover the Airest and the ZU, ZHU and BU, not the TU. We give you your unit’s warranty terms with the quotation.
