05 · The calendar

A business’s HVAC year, month by month.

The current month is selected. Bluish months are Hydro-Québec’s winter period.

07 · Who does what

Our three licences cover most needs. The rest goes to a licensed partner.

A clear quote says who does each part. Ours does too.

15.8Ventilation

Ducts, grilles, diffusers, air exchangers, make-up air, duct-mounted humidifiers.

15.10Refrigeration

Heat pumps, air conditioning, VRF, walk-in coolers, refrigerant piping.

16Electrical

Equipment power, controls, thermostats, sensor wiring (CMEQ).

AirGreen holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01, subclasses 15.8, 15.10 and 16. Anything outside those subclasses goes to a partner who holds the right licence, and we tell you before you sign.

08 · Incentives

Who can pay part of the work.

The programs that most often apply to commercial projects, with their detailed page.

09 · The pitfalls

Six mistakes we often see in commercial buildings.

PeakOne cold day is paid for 12 months

The winter peak sets 65% of billed demand until the next winter.

LicenceAsk who does the gas and plumbing

That work needs RBQ subclasses other than ventilation and refrigeration.

SignatureSigning before the incentive is confirmed

Some incentives require an application before work. Check first.

Top-upTopping up without finding the leak

The regulation requires a leak test before any refrigerant charge (s. 9).

ScheduleThe previous tenant’s schedule

HVAC that was never reprogrammed heats and cools empty space.

SizeBigger is not better

An oversized unit short-cycles, dehumidifies poorly and wears out faster.

10 · Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions we hear most.

Which service should I pick if I don’t know where the problem comes from?

Start with the three-question diagnostic above. It ranks the services in order. Otherwise, book the free estimate: the technician finds the cause on site.

How much does the estimate cost?

Nothing. The on-site estimate is free, the quote arrives within 24 h and the final price is confirmed before work starts.

Where do you work?

Montréal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore and the North Shore. Our showroom is in Boucherville.

Which licences do you hold?

RBQ licence 5645-9605-01: 15.8 Ventilation, 15.10 Refrigeration and 16 Electrical. Gas, plumbing and hot-water heating go to a licensed partner.

Why does my summer bill stay high?

On rates G and M, billed demand is never below 65% of the peak reached during the winter period (December 1 to March 31) of the last 12 months. A January peak is paid until the next winter.

Rate G or rate M: which applies to my business?

Rate G covers accounts whose minimum billing demand is below 65 kW. Rate M applies when demand reaches 50 kW or more and the account no longer qualifies for G. Your bill shows the rate that applies.

What is rate Flex G?

A rate G option for accounts under 50 kW: 10.173 ¢/kWh in winter outside events, but 56.516 ¢/kWh during peak events, between 6 and 10 a.m. or 4 and 8 p.m., December 1 to March 31, 120 h at most.

Is there an incentive for my commercial project?

Often. Hydro-Québec’s Efficient Solutions helps small businesses (at least 10% stays at your expense) and medium and large businesses. The federal clean technology tax credit may also apply. Have the incentive confirmed before you sign.

What humidity level does the law require in a business?

At least 20% relative humidity during business hours, in offices and commercial establishments built or operated after December 19, 1979 (RSST, s. 119).

Must my building report its energy use?

In Montréal, By-law 21-042 covers buildings of 2,000 m² or more or 25 units or more: annual declaration by June 30. Québec also requires a declaration from large buildings starting in 2027 (5,000 m² and up).

What is the minimum temperature in my premises?

It depends on the work: 12 to 20 °C under RSST Schedule IV. Office work requires 20 °C.

How often should equipment be serviced?

We recommend a visit before each heating and cooling season. Refrigeration and air-conditioning units of 20 kW or more need a leak test at least once a year, never more than 15 months apart.

Do you handle emergencies?

Yes. During business hours (Mon–Thu 8 a.m.–6 p.m., Fri 8 a.m.–4 p.m.), breakdown calls get priority. Call 514 316-2973 or 514 316-3007 (South Shore).

Do you work on gas rooftop units?

Yes for the ventilation, refrigeration and electrical parts. The gas side (burner, valve, connection) goes to a partner holding subclass 15.2.
