Quick facts
Two 3 kW elements, two stages: a 6 kW boiler that measures out its heat
What the Mini ULTRA 6 adds
In Thermo 2000’s Mini ULTRA series, the 6 kW size marks a change. The smaller models have a single element; this one has two, 3 kW each, wired on two stages. The boiler therefore delivers its heat in two steps instead of one single 6 kW block. At full output, it produces 20,472 BTU/h at 240 V, according to the manufacturer.
The rest of the unit keeps what defines the Mini ULTRA: a compact wall-mounted cabinet weighing 47 lb when shipped, 1 US gal of water, 3/4 in NPT connections and the T2 UltraSmart controller with its outdoor sensor. The controller adjusts the water temperature to the weather with three curves (MIN, STD, MAX), shuts the heat off in mild weather and offers a Boost mode.
In a condo, a bungalow or a plex
This size suits small dwellings heated as a whole. A few typical cases:
- a Montreal condo heated by hydronic baseboards;
- a bungalow in Laval or on the North Shore with hot-water radiators;
- an old electric boiler to replace in the basement, on an existing loop;
- an air-to-water heat pump that needs electric back-up.
Each situation calls for its own checks. The circuit must be a dedicated 240 V line, with a 40 A breaker and Cu 8 / Al 6 wire according to Thermo 2000; the boiler draws 25.0 A at full output. In a building supplied at 208 V, it delivers 4.5 kW at 21.8 A, which can change the size to choose. On the water side, the loop must provide 4.1 US gpm at a 10 °F ΔT or 2.0 US gpm at a 20 °F ΔT, and respect a maximum working pressure of 30 psi.
Our installation
We start with a free on-site estimate, followed by a detailed written quote. Since Thermo 2000 does not supply the circulator and expansion tank, we include them in the quote, sized for your loop.
Our technicians mount the boiler on the wall, connect it to the loop and install the supplied parts: 30 psi relief valve, drain valve and temperature and pressure gauge. They mount the outdoor sensor, make the electrical connection under AirGreen’s RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical), then fill and purge the system. Before leaving, we choose with you the preset that matches your radiators, baseboards or radiant floor.
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years. We also install in Longueuil and across the South Shore.
Thermo 2000 warrants the tank for 15 years and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years (parts).

A 6 kW wall-mounted boiler for radiators, baseboards or a radiant floor
The Mini ULTRA 6 heats the water of a hydronic loop with two 3 kW elements in two stages. It is the first size in the Mini ULTRA series to split its output this way.
- Condo or apartment heated by hydronic baseboards
- Bungalow or small house with hot-water radiators
- Replacing an old electric boiler in the basement
- Back-up for an air-to-water heat pump

Frequently asked questions
What are the two stages for?
The Mini ULTRA 6 splits its 6 kW over two 3 kW elements. Heat is delivered in two steps rather than one single block, and the T2 UltraSmart controller adjusts the water temperature to the weather.
What electrical protection is needed?
Thermo 2000 specifies a 40 A breaker and Cu 8 or Al 6 wire at 240 V. The unit draws 25.0 A at full output. We check your panel during the estimate.
What does it deliver in a 208 V building?
4.5 kW at 21.8 A, according to the manufacturer. We take that into account before recommending this size.
What circulator is needed?
The circulator is not supplied. It must provide 4.1 US gpm for a 10 °F difference, or 2.0 US gpm for a 20 °F difference, according to Thermo 2000. We choose it based on your loop.
What comes with the boiler?
The 30 psi relief valve, drain valve, temperature and pressure gauge, outdoor temperature sensor and installation manual.
