Quick facts
7.5 kW on a 40 A circuit, to heat a whole dwelling with hot water
A plex dwelling, a small house
Picture a duplex dwelling in Montreal heated by hot-water radiators, or a small house in Longueuil whose ground floor sits on a radiant floor. The original boiler is at the end of its life, the mechanical room is narrow, and you want to stay electric. Thermo 2000’s Mini ULTRA 7.5 fits this kind of project: a wall-mounted unit weighing 47 lb when shipped, holding 1 US gal of water and producing 25,590 BTU/h at 240 V.
Thermo 2000 designs it for radiant floors, radiators and hydronic baseboards, and also presents it as a back-up for an air-to-water heat pump or a geothermal system.
How the Mini ULTRA 7.5 splits its output
This size is the only one in the series that combines two elements of different output: one 3 kW and one 4.5 kW, wired on two stages. The T2 UltraSmart controller responds to thermostat demand and adjusts the water temperature to the supplied outdoor sensor, with a MIN, STD or MAX curve depending on your distribution system. In mild weather it stops heating; a Boost mode is provided for recovery.
On the electrical side, Thermo 2000 specifies a 40 A breaker and Cu 8 / Al 6 wire at 240 V. If your building is on 208 V, the output drops to 5.6 kW at 27.2 A, and we redo the calculation accordingly. The water temperature range is 50 °F to 190 °F, with two high limits: automatic at 208 °F and manual at 227 °F.
AirGreen’s installation, from the visit to start-up
We first come to see your system for a free estimate. We note the radiators or floor area, the condition of the loop and the panel capacity, then give you a written quote. It includes the circulator and expansion tank, which are not supplied with the boiler.
The circulator is chosen to give the loop the flow Thermo 2000 requires: 5.1 US gpm at a 10 °F ΔT, or 2.5 US gpm at a 20 °F ΔT. The loop must also respect the 30 psi maximum working pressure. Our technicians mount the boiler, connect it through its 3/4 in NPT connections, install the supplied relief valve, temperature and pressure gauge and drain valve, then mount the outdoor sensor. The electrical connection is made under our RBQ licence 5645-9605-01, which covers ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. We finish with filling, purging and setting the controller.
A family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, AirGreen also installs in Laval, on the South Shore and on the North Shore. Thermo 2000 warrants the tank for 15 years and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years.

Heating a whole dwelling with hot water, from a wall-mounted unit
The Mini ULTRA 7.5 feeds a loop of radiators, hydronic baseboards or radiant floor. Its 7.5 kW is split over two elements of different output, wired on two stages.
- Duplex or triplex dwelling heated by hot-water radiators
- Small house with a radiant floor on the ground floor
- Replacing an electric boiler on an existing loop
- Back-up for an air-to-water heat pump or a geothermal system

Frequently asked questions
Why choose the 7.5 kW over the 6 kW?
For a larger dwelling or one that is harder to heat. Thermo 2000 specifies the same 40 A breaker and the same Cu 8 / Al 6 wire for both sizes. The choice is made after the heat-loss calculation, during our visit.
What water flow must the loop provide?
5.1 US gpm for a 10 °F difference between supply and return, or 2.5 US gpm for a 20 °F difference, according to Thermo 2000. The pressure drop through the boiler is negligible.
What does it deliver at 208 V?
5.6 kW and 27.2 A, according to the manufacturer. In a 208 V building, we redo the calculation with that output.
Can my radiators handle the pressure?
The Mini ULTRA has a maximum working pressure of 30 psi (207 kPa) and its relief valve is rated 30 psi. We check the existing loop before connecting it.
What warranty does Thermo 2000 offer?
15 years on the tank and 2 years on electrical and mechanical components (parts).
