Quick facts
The Gree E2CORD power cord connects a Gree R32 PTAC to its 208/230 V wall receptacle. Gree describes it as a universal cord: its amperage corresponds to a specific electric heat output. Changing the cord therefore also sets the heat the unit can use.
Choosing the cord by heat output and circuit
In a hotel, a residence or an apartment, each PTAC has its own dedicated circuit. The cord, the receptacle and the breaker must have the same amperage. Gree points out that codes require leakage current or arc protection on 208/230 V cords: its plug has TEST and RESET buttons to check it.
Three sizes, according to Gree
- E2CORD-230V15A: 15 A, 2.45 kW heat, NEMA 6-15R receptacle.
- E2CORD-230V20A: 20 A, 3.45 kW heat, NEMA 6-20R receptacle.
- E2CORD-230V30A: 30 A, 5 kW heat, NEMA 6-30R receptacle.
Points to check
The wall receptacle, supplied on site, must match the cord’s plug. Gree prohibits the use of an extension cord. Once the unit is installed, run a test with the TEST and RESET buttons on the plug. This cord is the 230/208 V version: Gree offers separate cords for 265 V PTACs. Send us your unit’s model number: we confirm the right cord before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Which cord should I pick?
Per Gree’s table: 15 A for 2.45 kW of heat, 20 A for 3.45 kW, 30 A for 5 kW. The circuit and receptacle must share the same rating. Send us your PTAC model number and we confirm.
Which receptacle do I need?
A NEMA 6-15R for the 15 A cord, 6-20R for 20 A and 6-30R for 30 A, on 208/230 V.
Does it fit a 265 V PTAC?
No. Gree makes separate 265 V cords. This is the 230/208 V version.
Can you install it?
