Quick facts
The Gree TP-N-631 wired wall thermostat is one of the accessories for Gree R32 PTACs. Gree describes it as a wired wall thermostat with two fan speeds. It connects to the unit’s 24 V terminal block and replaces the built-in control panel for everyday adjustments.
Why switch to a wall control
A PTAC’s control panel sits right next to the air outlet: the temperature it reads is not always the room temperature. A thermostat mounted on an interior wall, away from the windows and the unit, gives a more accurate reading and steadier comfort. In a hotel or a residence, the control is also easier for the occupant to find.
Wiring to the PTAC
- R: 24 V AC; C: common
- Y: compressor; W: electric heat
- O: reversing valve, heat pump only
- GH and GL: fan on high or low speed
Enabling the wall control
According to Gree’s manual, the unit’s “Wall Thermostat Enable” switch must be set to the enabled position before the thermostat is used. Gree also offers a wireless version, the TP-N-631W. Send us your PTAC’s model number: we confirm compatibility before ordering.
