Quick facts
A small Conforto air handler you forget is there
The MHAH118DACFC in brief
The MHAH118DACFC is the 1.5-ton (18,000 BTU/h) size of Conforto’s MHAH series, presented in the manufacturer’s brochure on ducted central heat pump systems. It is the indoor part of the system: installed in a closet, the basement or a mechanical room, it pushes air through the ducts while the outdoor unit produces the heat or cooling.
What stands out are its sound levels. Conforto publishes 34 dB at maximum speed, 31 dB at medium and 30 dB at minimum. Airflow reaches 576 CFM maximum, which suits a small duct system.
Which homes it suits
This size is aimed at small spaces: condos, apartments with ductwork, small well-insulated single-storey houses. In a Montreal condo, where the air handler often sits in a closet near the bedrooms, a quiet unit makes a real difference at night. In a small Longueuil bungalow, it makes it possible to move to a central heat pump while keeping the existing ducts, after checking their capacity.
The right size matters as much as noise. An air handler too large for the home blows hard, stops often and leaves the air humid in summer; that is why we calculate the real needs before confirming the 1.5-ton size.
Before buying
The cabinet is 21.02 in wide, 17.52 in deep and 45.00 in high. It runs on 208/230 V single phase, 60 Hz, and connects to the outdoor unit with a 3/8 in liquid line and a 3/4 in suction line.
It is sold alone: the outdoor unit is not included, and we confirm the matched Conforto outdoor unit before ordering. Sold alone, it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant, which follows the certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. No heater kit is listed for this model in the data we verified; if you want electric backup heat, we confirm the compatible option before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Is this air handler quiet?
Conforto publishes 34 dB at maximum speed, 31 dB at medium and 30 dB at minimum. Perceived noise also depends on the ducts and grilles, which we check during the estimate.
Which outdoor unit does it work with?
It belongs to the Conforto central heat pump range presented in the manufacturer’s brochure. We confirm the matched Conforto outdoor unit with you before ordering.
Should I plan for electric backup heat?
No heater kit is listed for this model in our data. If your home needs one in extreme cold, we confirm the compatible option with the manufacturer before ordering.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
Not when sold alone. Hydro-Québec’s grant follows a certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. For a complete system, we check the pair’s eligibility in the quote.
