Quick facts
Three Conforto tons for a two-storey home that stays comfortable all year
The MHAH136DACFC in the system
A central heat pump has two parts: the outdoor unit, which produces heat in winter and cooling in summer, and the indoor cabinet, which distributes it through the house via the ducts. The MHAH136DACFC is that cabinet in the 3-ton (36,000 BTU/h) size of the MHAH series, which Conforto presents in its brochure on ducted central heat pumps. The manufacturer publishes a maximum airflow of 1,082 CFM for it.
Summer and winter, the air has to reach everywhere
In a two-storey home on the North Shore or in Laval, the challenge is familiar: the upper floor overheats in July, the basement stays cool in January. A well-chosen 3-ton size helps, but the real work happens in the ducts. The air handler’s airflow has to reach the bedrooms, and the air has to come back through adequate returns. That is what we check first during the estimate, before even talking about equipment.
On noise, Conforto publishes 45 dB at maximum speed, 43 dB at medium and 41 dB at minimum. Most of the time, a correctly sized system runs at the lower speeds, where it is quietest.
Key data
In terms of footprint, allow for a 21.02 x 21.02 in base and 49.02 in of height. Power is 208/230 V single phase, 60 Hz; the refrigerant connections are 3/8 in for the liquid and 3/4 in for the suction. Also plan room for the plenum and the service clearance the manufacturer requires.
On the purchase side, the MHAH136DACFC is sold without an outdoor unit, and the matched Conforto model is confirmed before ordering. Bought alone, it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant, which is reserved for the certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. Our data mentions no heater kit for this model; electric backup heat is therefore validated with the manufacturer before ordering.
How the installation goes
Our family business has been established in Montreal for more than fifteen years; its RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 covers ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. After the free on-site estimate, you receive a written quote that specifies the equipment and, if needed, the duct corrections. On installation day, our technicians remove the old unit, install the air handler, adapt the plenum, connect the refrigerant piping, the condensate drain and the electrical supply, pull a vacuum, then commission and balance the system with you. We work in Montreal, Longueuil, on the South Shore and throughout Greater Montreal.

- Two-storey homes with ductwork
- Replacing an old 3-ton central system
- Completing a 3-ton Conforto central heat pump
- Homes whose upper floor stays too warm in summer

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: the LogisVert grant follows the certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. This air handler alone does not qualify.
- Outdoor unit not included: we confirm the matched Conforto outdoor unit before ordering.
- The upstairs ducts and return air must be able to take the planned airflow; we check them before confirming the size.
- No heater kit is listed for this model in the verified data: we confirm the compatible electric backup option before ordering.
- 21.02 x 21.02 x 49.02 in cabinet (W x D x H), powered at 208/230 V single phase, 60 Hz.

Frequently asked questions
Will my upper floor finally be comfortable in summer?
The air handler can deliver up to 1,082 CFM; upstairs comfort depends mostly on the ducts and return air that reach it. We check them during the estimate and include any needed corrections in the quote.
Will the cabinet fit in my mechanical room?
It is 21.02 in wide, 21.02 in deep and 49.02 in high, not counting the plenum. We measure the available space during the free estimate.
What sound level does Conforto publish?
45 dB at maximum speed, 43 dB at medium and 41 dB at minimum.
Is the outdoor unit included?
No, the air handler is sold alone. We confirm the matched Conforto outdoor unit with you before ordering.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
Not when sold alone. The grant follows a certified outdoor unit + air handler pair; for a complete system, we check eligibility in the quote.
