Quick facts
Five tons of cooling on a horizontal furnace, in a 10 in cabinet
Large houses whose electric furnace lies along the ceiling of a mechanical room need a coil that matches their ductwork without eating into the space. The ADP HH66160A425A2102AP horizontal coil houses a 5-ton (60,000 BTU/h nominal) slab in a cabinet 22-3/4 in high and 10 in deep. It runs on R-410A, and ADP declares it compatible with an air conditioner as well as a heat pump.
A cased coil, ready to connect
The coil arrives in its own cabinet with an embossed finish, with a drain pan molded from a high-temperature polymer (450°F), UV resistant and treated with Microban. The H66 slab covers 3 to 5 tons according to ADP; the factory-installed piston, sized for 60,000 BTU/h, sets this model’s size. Air passes through the slab in either direction, which simplifies the hookup to the existing unit. ADP presents it as a good choice for replacing coils on existing installations.
Five tons, when it is truly needed
Bigger is not always better. A system too large for the house starts and stops often and removes humidity less effectively, which you feel during Montreal’s humid summers. Before recommending this size, we calculate the house’s cooling and heating load. Remember too that the coil alone has no efficiency rating and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant: performance depends on the matched outdoor unit and air handler. ADP does not publish a matching list for this model, so we check your equipment before ordering.
Handling and placement
At 47 in wide and 75 lb, the cabinet takes two people to handle and rests on solid supports. Its 42-5/8 x 21-1/4 in opening guides the fabrication of the transition to the unit. When the assembly sits above a finished room, we recommend an auxiliary pan and an access panel for service.
With AirGreen, from load calculation to start-up
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical). The on-site estimate is free and the quote is written. Our technicians remove the old coil after recovering the refrigerant, install the new one, braze the 3/8 and 7/8 in connections, pressure-test and pull a vacuum, connect the drain, then commission the system. Remember afterwards to register the warranty with ADP within 90 days. We serve Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore.

The coil for large horizontal central systems
The HH66160A425A2102AP attaches to the outlet of an electric furnace or air handler installed horizontally. ADP presents it as a good choice for replacing the coil of an existing installation, for cooling as well as for a heat pump.
- Large houses whose calculated load calls for 5 tons
- Replacing a worn-out 5-ton R-410A horizontal coil
- 5-ton central heat pump on a horizontal electric furnace
- Units lying along the ceiling of a mechanical room or in a crawl space

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: does not qualify for the LogisVert grant. A coil has no efficiency rating on its own; performance depends on the matched outdoor unit and air handler.
- Horizontal position only: no vertical mounting.
- 75 lb and 47 in wide: it takes two people to handle, and the cabinet must rest on solid supports.
- R-410A: the factory-installed piston is sized for 60,000 BTU/h nominal; we validate it against the outdoor unit.
- A 5-ton size is justified by a load calculation, done before we recommend it.
- ADP does not publish a matching list for this model: compatibility is checked before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my house needs 5 tons?
Through a calculation of the cooling and heating load, not only from the size of the old unit. We do it during the free estimate. A system too large for the house runs in short cycles and removes humidity less effectively.
How much space is needed, and how much does it weigh?
The cabinet measures 22-3/4 x 47 x 10 in (H x W x D) and weighs 75 lb. Its opening is 42-5/8 x 21-1/4 in (W x H). Add access for service and the drain.
Does it work with a heat pump?
Yes. ADP states that the HH series is compatible with an air conditioner or a heat pump. The outdoor unit must run on R-410A.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No, not sold alone. If the project also includes a new outdoor unit, the quote specifies whether the complete proposed system qualifies.
How do I get the 10-year warranty?
ADP offers the extension to 10 years with registration at adpwarranty.com within 90 days, for an owner-occupied single-family residence and a model covered by the promotion. In Québec, according to ADP, failure to register does not reduce coverage. The base warranty is 5 years on parts; labour and refrigerant are not covered.
