Quick facts
The inverted steel wall bracket is used to hang a heat pump's outdoor unit under a balcony or a roof overhang. It is the solution when the ground is already taken, the wall is not suitable, or snow on the ground makes any other location difficult. It is sold individually or as a set of 2.
One more location option for the outdoor unit
In Montréal plexes and row houses, outdoor space is often tight: narrow yard, staircase, parking. Hung under a balcony, the unit frees up the ground and stays partly sheltered from falling snow. It must still keep the clearances required by the unit's manufacturer, above as well as in front.
What to check before installation
- The structure (balcony, beam, overhang) must be able to carry the weight of the outdoor unit.
- In a condominium, the balcony and facade are usually common portions: the condo board's approval is often required.
- Defrost water dripping from the unit must not fall onto a walkway or staircase.
Available formats
The bracket is sold individually or as a set of 2. Anti-vibration pads between the unit and the bracket limit the noise transmitted to the structure.

Frequently asked questions
When should I use an inverted bracket?
When the outdoor unit has to hang from a structure above it, under a balcony or a roof overhang, because the ground or the wall will not work.
Is my balcony structure strong enough?
That has to be checked on site before mounting. Our technicians assess the location and the unit’s weight and suggest another spot if needed.
Do I need the condo syndicate’s approval?
Often, yes, since the balcony and the facade are usually common areas. Check your declaration of co-ownership before the work.
Can you install it?
Yes. Our technicians mount the bracket and the outdoor unit when they install your heat pump, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
