Quick facts
A 30 kW boiler that sets the water temperature to the weather, for 600 V buildings
The BTH ULTRA 30 and the buildings it serves
Thermo 2000 builds the BTH ULTRA in a residential and a commercial version. This 30 kW model belongs to the latter: it runs on 600 V three-phase, with six 5 kW, 347 V elements, and delivers 102,360 BTU/h according to the manufacturer.
It is found in community halls, daycares, offices and small institutional buildings heated by a hot-water loop: radiant floor, radiators or baseboards. A daycare on the South Shore that heats its rooms through the floor, or a parish hall in Montreal fitted with old radiators, are two examples of projects where it fits.
A controller that follows the weather
The T2 UltraSmart controller is the heart of the unit. With the supplied outdoor sensor, it modulates the water temperature along three curves (MIN, STD and MAX): the colder it is outside, the hotter the water, and the other way around. When the weather turns mild, warm weather shutdown pauses the heating. The controller also modulates output based on demand and offers a Boost mode and a pump purge.
For a building manager, the backlit display and the presets by distribution system make seasonal adjustments simpler. Safety relies on two temperature limits: an automatic one at 208 °F (98 °C) and a manual reset one at 227 °F (108 °C).
Its place in a Quebec building
600 V three-phase power is common in Quebec’s commercial and institutional buildings. There, the BTH ULTRA 30 draws 28.9 A and calls for a 40 A breaker and a suggested wire gauge of Cu 8 or Al 6. The boiler mounts on the wall; it weighs 75 lb and holds 3 US gal of water. Its water connections are 1 1/4 in female NPT and its maximum working pressure is 30 psi (207 kPa). Thermo 2000 also presents it as backup for a heat pump or a geothermal system.
AirGreen’s installation, from estimate to commissioning
We start with a free estimate visit: a look at the electrical panel, the loop, the emitters and the existing boiler, if there is one. The written quote that follows specifies the boiler, the circulator, the expansion tank and the other parts to plan for.
On installation day, our technicians mount the boiler on the wall, install the supplied relief valve, drain valve and temperature and pressure gauge, connect the piping and the electrical circuit, then fill and purge the loop. They connect the outdoor sensor, choose the curve with you and show the building staff how to read the display. Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 15 years and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years (parts).
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical).

A 30 kW boiler for buildings on 600 V power
Radiant floor, radiators, hot-water baseboards: the BTH ULTRA 30 heats the loop water that the circulator then distributes through the building. Thermo 2000 intends it for new installations as well as replacements.
- Community halls, daycares and offices heated by radiant floors
- Institutional buildings with a 600 V three-phase electrical service
- Replacing an ageing commercial electric boiler
- Electric backup for a heat pump or a geothermal system

Frequently asked questions
How much heat does the BTH ULTRA 30 deliver?
Thermo 2000 publishes 30 kW, or 102,360 BTU/h, spread over six 5 kW elements and two stages. The right size depends on the building’s heat load, which we assess during the estimate.
What electrical circuit is needed?
A 600 V three-phase, 60 Hz circuit. Thermo 2000 lists 28.9 A, a 40 A breaker and a suggested wire gauge of Cu 8 or Al 6.
Is the outdoor sensor included?
Yes, Thermo 2000 supplies it. Connected to the T2 UltraSmart controller, it modulates the water temperature to the outdoor temperature (MIN, STD and MAX curves) and enables warm weather shutdown.
What warranty does the manufacturer give?
Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 15 years and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years (parts), in Canada and the United States.
Do you handle the complete installation?
Yes: wall mounting, piping, 600 V electrical connection, filling and purging, then controller setup. The circulator and expansion tank listed in the quote are installed at the same time.
