Quick facts
The Eco-Touch wall control from Fantech operates a compatible air exchanger from a wall in the house. This version connects to the unit with a 4-wire cable. It is used to replace a broken or outdated control, or to put the main control in the living area rather than in the basement next to the unit.
Ventilation settings within reach
An air exchanger (HRV or ERV) works better when the ventilation is easy to adjust: more fresh air when the house is full, less when it is empty, a switch to high speed after a shower or cooking. Mounted in the hallway or living room, the wall control makes these adjustments simple, without going down to the basement.
Before you order
- Check your exchanger’s model number: Fantech controls are designed for specific units.
- Plan a 4-conductor cable between the exchanger and the control; an existing cable can often be used.
- Choose a central area, away from a heating register, a window or the bathroom.
Wiring
Cut the power to the exchanger before wiring the control and follow the wiring diagram supplied by Fantech with the unit. If your exchanger is not a Fantech, send us its details: we will point you to the control specified by its manufacturer.
