Quick facts
The pre-insulated line set combines the two copper tubes of a wall-mounted heat pump: the liquid line and the gas line, each already covered with insulation. Sold in a 50 ft roll, it unrolls between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit, is cut to the required length and is connected with flare fittings.
Connecting the indoor and outdoor units in one piece
Since the insulation is already in place, there is no need to slide it over the full length of the tubes, which speeds up the job and reduces the risk of tears. We use it for wall-mounted heat pumps and to connect an indoor head to a multi-zone outdoor unit, through a wall, in a recessed box or under a finishing line cover.
Four liquid × gas sizes
- 1/4 × 3/8 in
- 1/4 × 1/2 in
- 1/4 × 5/8 in
- 3/8 × 3/4 in
The first figure is the outside diameter of the liquid line, the second that of the gas line. The right size is the one matching your unit’s connections, given in its installation manual: send us the model number and we will confirm it.
Before connecting
Check the maximum line length and elevation difference allowed by the unit’s manufacturer. Cut square, deburr and flare with a suitable tool, then do the dry nitrogen pressure test and the evacuation before opening the valves. This work is reserved for a qualified refrigeration technician.
