The GENERAL AIRSTAGE FJ-IR-WIFI-1NA infrared Wi-Fi module and its Fujitsu AIRSTAGE equivalent are one and the same. GENERAL Inc. is the name Fujitsu General Limited has carried since January 1, 2026, following its acquisition by Paloma Rheem Holdings; the manufacturer and its factories are the same as before. The module is used to run an AIRSTAGE heat pump, GENERAL or Fujitsu, from a phone, tablet or computer with the Intesis Home app. Fastened to the wall within range of the indoor unit, it sends your commands to it by infrared, the same way its remote does, and nothing plugs into the unit. You can also view the same part under the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE brand, sold alongside the GENERAL version.

Managing the heat pump without being there

Start the unit before you arrive, make sure it is no longer running after you leave, keep an eye on the room temperature and get notified as soon as an alarm goes off. To set up a schedule, the calendar built into the app does the job. Each indoor unit needs its own module, and the app can bring together up to 50 of them.

To check before mounting

Because the service is cloud-based, the Internet connection has to stay active at all times. Measure the Wi-Fi signal strength at the planned spot and keep the path between the module and the unit clear, since curtains, furniture, glass and metal surfaces can disrupt infrared. A non-wall unit, such as a cassette or a ducted unit, must be fitted with an IR receiver installed on the unit. Without a receiver, the wired FJ-AC-WIFI-1 module is often the better choice.

Frequently asked questions

Is my GENERAL or Fujitsu unit compatible?

The manufacturer lists this module among the accessories of its R-32 AIRSTAGE H-Series heat pumps: wall-mount, cassette, ducted, floor and air handler units. Send us your indoor unit’s model number and we confirm before ordering.

Does it need Internet?

Yes. Intesis Home is a cloud service: the module and your phone both need Internet access.

How is it different from the wired FJ-AC-WIFI-1?

The FJ-IR-WIFI-1NA sends commands by infrared and mounts on the wall without opening the unit. The FJ-AC-WIFI-1 is wired to the unit, so line of sight is not a concern.

Can you install it?

Yes. Our technicians mount the module, connect it to your Wi-Fi and pair it with the unit, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
