A coil that matches the width of your 24-1/2 in furnace

A well-chosen coil starts with the right width. The Arcoaire EVD4X42M24A evaporator coil is made for 24-1/2 in electric furnaces and air handlers: its cabinet lines up edge to edge, which simplifies the connection to the ductwork. It provides 3.5 tons of R-410A air conditioning. AirGreen installs it in homes in Montreal, Laval and Longueuil, as well as on the South Shore and the North Shore.

Why width matters so much

The coil sits directly against the furnace. When both are the same width, air passes from one to the other with no reduction or ledge, and the joint stays clean and tight. That is why Arcoaire offers the same 3.5-ton capacity in more than one width. This model targets 24-1/2 in electric furnaces and air handlers. We always measure the furnace before ordering.

Construction and use

The EVD4X42M24A belongs to the Power-V series: the headers are at the top of the coil and, according to Arcoaire, this design delivers the same or better SEER without a larger coil. The microchannel coil is all aluminum and corrosion resistant, the condensate drain pan is PBT, and the 24-gauge pre-painted steel cabinet is fully insulated. The thermostatic expansion valve comes factory installed. The connections are 3/8 in for the liquid line and 7/8 in for the suction line.

This coil is limited to air conditioning: Arcoaire states it is not for use with a heat pump. It installs vertically, upflow or downflow. Sold alone, it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant. At 41.3 lb operating weight, it is also the heaviest of the EVD4X coils we offer; we take this into account for access to the mechanical room. It is available while supplies last.

AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years. Our technicians work under RBQ licence 5645-9605-01, which covers ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. After a free on-site estimate, we set the coil on the furnace, connect the air ducts and the refrigerant lines, perform the leak test and evacuation, connect the condensate drain and commission the system with the blower set within the 1,050 to 1,750 CFM range published by the manufacturer.

Arcoaire warrants parts for 10 years when the unit is registered on time, and 5 years if it is not registered within 90 days of installation. We give you the information needed to complete that registration.
