Quick facts
The condenser pad is a flat base, 3 in thick, that the outdoor unit of a central heat pump or central air conditioner sits on. It goes on the ground or on a flat roof and replaces the concrete slab that used to be poured under the unit.
A stable base, with no concrete pour
The outdoor unit has to stay level for the compressor and water drainage to work as intended. On bare ground, it sinks with freeze and thaw; on an old cracked slab, it tilts. The pad gives a flat surface as soon as it is laid, with no forms and no curing time.
Two sizes
- 24 × 30 × 3 in
- 24 × 36 × 3 in
Choose a size larger than the outdoor unit’s footprint, given in the unit’s manual.
Pad, ground stand or wall bracket
The pad only raises the unit by 3 in. For a central air conditioner, that is often enough. A heat pump runs all winter: where snow builds up, a ground stand or a wall bracket keeps the unit higher. In every case, compact and level the ground before installation, and respect the clearances required by the unit’s manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions
Which size do I need?
One larger than the outdoor unit’s footprint, listed in its manual. Send us the equipment model and we confirm the size.
Is a pad enough for a Québec winter?
It raises the unit by 3 in. For a heat pump unit exposed to heavy snow, an adjustable ground stand or a wall bracket keeps it higher. We choose based on the location.
Can it go on a flat roof?
Yes, on a surface prepared to take the equipment. The roofing must be protected and the load well spread.
Can you install it?
Yes. Our technicians prepare the surface and set the pad and the outdoor unit during the installation, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
