Quick facts
The 3 × 3 in plastic foot pad goes under each foot of an outdoor unit ground stand. It spreads the unit’s weight over a wider area and protects what is underneath: flat roof membrane, pavers, deck or slab. It is available individually or in a box of 40.
Protecting the roof and pavers under the outdoor unit
The foot of a metal stand concentrates the unit’s entire weight on a few square centimetres. With compressor vibration and freeze-thaw cycles, it eventually marks pavers or wears through a roof membrane. A plastic foot pad under each foot prevents that direct contact and helps the stand stay stable.
Where to use it
- Under a ground stand set on a flat roof
- On pavers, a deck or a concrete slab
- Under the stands of wall-mounted and central heat pump outdoor units
How many you need
Count one foot pad per stand foot. A single pad is handy for replacing a damaged one; the box of 40 covers several installations. On a flat roof, have the roofer confirm that the membrane can take the unit before installation.

Between the stand leg and the surface
A ground stand’s legs put the unit’s weight on a small area: the foot spreads it out.

Frequently asked questions
How many do I need?
One under each stand leg: count the legs on your stands.
Is it useful on a concrete slab?
Less than on a membrane or pavers, but it still keeps the leg from marking the surface and helps the stand stay steady.
Can a ground stand go on a flat roof?
Yes, on a surface meant for the equipment, with feet under the legs. The roofer must confirm the membrane allows it.
Can you install it?
Yes. Our technicians fit the feet with the stand and the outdoor unit during the installation, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
