Quick facts
The LG PQCA0 low ambient control kit is an original control adapter that LG Canada groups with its wind baffles, under the name “Low Ambient Cooling Control Kit”. Paired with the PAG-HS wind baffles, it lets certain LG heat pumps cool in very cold weather.
Cooling in the middle of winter, when you need it
A server room, a commercial kitchen or a mechanical room produces heat all year round. On the specified models, LG lists cooling down to -4 °F (-20 °C) with the wind baffles alone, and down to -40 °F (-40 °C) with the PQCA0 kit and the wind baffles. On the LUU488HV, for example, LG pairs the kit with the PAG-HS4 and PAG-HS5 wind baffles.

- LG single-zone cassettes, ducted units and vertical air handlers specified by LG
- Not compatible with LGRED units or the Prestige line, according to LG
Before ordering
Note the model numbers of the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. We confirm compatibility and the pair of wind baffles that fits your unit’s casing. The kit changes nothing about heating: it is only used to extend cooling in cold weather.

What to know before installing
- Check that your unit is one LG lists: LGRED and Prestige units are excluded.
- The kit is installed with the wind guards that match the outdoor unit cabinet.
- Without the kit, wind guards alone extend cooling down to -20 °C on the models LG lists.
- Installation involves the unit’s controls: have a technician do it.

Is my LG unit compatible?
LG lists it for DUALCOOL and ARTCOOL Mirror LS-series wall units and for single-zone cassettes, ducted units and vertical air handlers. LGRED and Prestige units are not compatible. Send us the model number and we confirm.
Do I also need wind guards?
Yes. LG pairs the kit with the wind guards that fit the outdoor unit, for example PAG-HS4 and PAG-HS5 on the LUU488HV.
Does it help heating?
No. It extends cooling in cold weather. Heating in deep cold depends on the unit’s own performance.
Can you install it?
Yes. We install the kit and the wind guards and set up the unit, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
