How Hydro-Québec computes it
The amount follows the certified heating capacity at −8 °C: $120 per 1,000 BTU/h for a cold-climate ENERGY STAR heat pump, $50 for a standard ENERGY STAR heat pump.
- Outdoor unit of 12,000 BTU/h or more.
- Capped at 100% of the cost of the work.
- Apply within 9 months of the installation.

Questions about ELIOS ducted units.
Where does a ducted unit go?
In a drop ceiling, a closet or a heated attic space: it is 245 mm high and can also stand vertically, upflow. The grilles go in each room served.
How many rooms can one ducted unit serve?
It depends on the capacity and the ducts; 0.8 in of pressure allows short runs to two or three neighbouring rooms. We do the room-by-room calculation.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Yes on the R-454B: the wired wall controller with Wi-Fi is in the box, and it is the one that sets static pressure.
Why keep the R-410A on the page?
For owners who have one and for comparison. The June 2026 ELIOS bulletin announces the R-410A phase-out in 2026.
What warranty?
ELIOS publishes 1 year on parts and 5 years on the compressor, with optional 10-year coverage. ELIOS publishes no labour warranty.
