The brand

Elios, Master Group’s own brand

Master Group launched Elios in 2018 and sells it through its branches across Canada. In 2025-2026, Elios is replacing its R-410A series with R-454B series, which is why our store still shows both generations.

The central system that still heats at -30°C

A Central-Elios outdoor heat pump and a multi-position air handler. Elios states 100% of rated capacity at -20°C and 69 to 76% at -30°C.

And the “electric furnace”?

Elios does not make a separate furnace. What we call an electric furnace is the central system’s air handler, fitted with a 3 to 25 kW electric heater.

Keep your furnace, add the heat pump

The Central-Elios coil goes on an electric or fuel furnace. Elios states up to 100% of rated capacity at -20°C and a high COP down to -30°C.

How it connects

Two formats: cased (GCHMA coil) or uncased (GUHMA). The furnace stays as backup heat.

10.9 inches: where a regular air handler will not fit

The Elios “pancake” is 10.9 in. high. Elios designed it for drop ceilings, condos and tight mechanical spaces.

Existing home; commercial spaces are not eligible.
Claim no later than 9 months after installation.

Without proof of the installation date, coverage starts 120 days after the manufacturing date.

Questions about Elios

Who makes Elios heat pumps?

Elios is Master Group’s brand, created in 2018 for the Canadian climate and sold through Master branches. Elios documents do not name the factory that builds the units.

What is the difference between the EMC and EBC wall units?

EMC is the cold-climate wall unit: heating down to -30°C, SEER2 up to 26. EBC is the essential line: heating down to -20°C (-25°C for 30,000 and 36,000 BTU/h), SEER2 up to 22.3.

Does Elios heat at -30°C?

Yes for the EMC wall unit, the Central-Elios central system (69 to 76% of its rated capacity at -30°C), most add-on systems and the EXZ e-Multi. EBC goes to -20°C; e-Match, the slim fan coil and the EXS e-Multi go to -25°C.

What do e19, e23 and e28 mean?

They are the older Elios R-410A wall units. For e19 and e23, the number is the series’ maximum SEER on the old scale (2019 brochures). Elios is replacing them with the R-454B EMC and EBC wall units.

Can I keep my furnace?

Yes: that is what the add-on is for. A Central-Elios coil goes on your electric or fuel furnace and connects to an outdoor heat pump.

Does Elios make an electric furnace?

No. What we list under “Electric furnace” is the air handler of the central system, fitted with an electric heater (3 to 25 kW for Central-Elios).

How many heads on an e-Multi?

According to the Elios 2026 combination table: at most 4 heads on the 18,000 BTU/h compressor, 5 on the 27,000 and 36,000, and 6 on the 48,000.

Will the slim fan coil fit in my ceiling?

The unit is 10.9 in. (277.6 mm) high. Elios designed it for drop ceilings, condos and tight mechanical spaces; clearances are confirmed on site.

How much does LogisVert give for an Elios?

According to Hydro-Québec’s list of October 7, 2026: from $996 (EBC 12,000) to $5,400 (Central-Elios 5 ton) for the systems we offer. The calculator in section 09 gives the amount for each size.

Why does a 9,000 BTU/h wall unit get no grant?

LogisVert requires an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h in cooling.

What is the Elios warranty?

Standard, per the 2025-2026 Elios brochures: 1 year on parts and 5 years on the compressor, labour not included. 10-year options (parts, compressor, labour) are offered by a third party.

Is R-410A banned?

Elios is replacing its R-410A series with R-454B series in 2025-2026 (Master Group transition document, June 2026). That does not ban using an R-410A unit already installed.

How much does an installed Elios heat pump cost?

Price on quotation: the quotation is free.

Where do you install Elios systems?

In Montréal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore and the North Shore. Our published Elios installations also include Montérégie.
