Does the TCL Ultimate 25 really heat at -30 °C?

TCL states a heating range down to -30 °C, and adds that the unit runs efficiently down to -25 °C (-13 °F). ENERGY STAR certifies, for example, 12,000 BTU/h at -15 °C for the Ultimate 25 12,000. Below -15 °C, ENERGY STAR publishes no value.

What is the difference between the Ultimate 25 and the APEX XS?

The Ultimate 25 is a ductless wall unit (one head on the wall and an outdoor unit), on R-454B, from 9,000 to 24,000 BTU. The APEX XS is a central system: an air handler connected to your ducts and an outdoor unit, on R-32, from 2 to 5 tons.

Does the Basalt Grey finish change the APEX XS’s performance?

No. Both finishes carry the same model number and the same ENERGY STAR certification. Only the colour of the outdoor unit changes.

How much does LogisVert give for a TCL heat pump?

According to Hydro-Québec’s list of October 13, 2026: $1,440 (Ultimate 25 12,000), $2,160 (18,000), $2,640 (24,000), then $2,880, $4,320, $5,760 and $6,480 for the 2- to 5-ton APEX XS. The amount Hydro-Québec shows on the installation date is the one that counts.

Why does the 9,000 BTU Ultimate 25 get no grant?

LogisVert requires an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h. The 9,000 BTU system is therefore not on Hydro-Québec’s list, even though it is ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certified.

What is the TCL warranty?

For the Ultimate 25, TCL’s spec sheet states 5 years on parts and 7 years on the compressor, or 10 years if the unit is registered within 60 days of installation. For the APEX XS, RBL A/C’s brochure states 10 years on parts and 10 years on the compressor. No TCL document mentions labour.

How do I register a TCL unit?

TCL offers an online registration form (register.tcl.com). For the Ultimate 25, registration within 60 days of installation is the condition for the 10-year warranty.

Is Wi-Fi included with the Ultimate 25?

TCL’s spec sheet describes a wireless remote with Wi-Fi and voice control, used with the TCL Home app.

Can the APEX XS replace my furnace?

The APEX XS comes with its own air handler, with electric backup heat kits (ATT05KEH to ATT20KEH). The connection to your existing ducts and the choice of kit are checked at the estimate.

Which refrigerant do TCL units use?

The Ultimate 25 uses R-454B and the APEX XS uses R-32.

I can’t find the Ultimate 25 at ENERGY STAR. Why?

ENERGY STAR lists it under the series name “EXHEAT”. Search by AHRI number, for example 216506201 for the Ultimate 25 12,000.

How much does an installed TCL heat pump cost?

The price depends on the house, the ducts and where the outdoor unit goes. It is set by quotation, after the in-home estimate.

Who distributes TCL in Québec?

AirGreen buys its TCL units from RBL A/C. In Canada, tclhvac.ca presents itself as the exclusive master distributor of TCL HVAC.
