Centauri XLTH: the FUJITSU central system for deep cold, down to -26 °C.
The same AMUH indoor unit as the Centauri, with an outdoor unit that heats 5 °C lower. At -26 °C, the 48,000 still gives 51,000 BTU/h, as much as its rated capacity at +8 °C.
-26 °C, not -30 °C
Fujitsu publishes a heating range down to -26 °C (-15 °F) for the Centauri XLTH. The -30 °C belongs to the Orion XLTH+ wall unit.
More heat when it gets colder.
Six facts from Fujitsu documents, the ENERGY STAR list, the NEEP list and the LogisVert guide. Sources are at the bottom of the page.
Fujitsu publishes a heating range down to -26 °C (-15 °F) for the Centauri XLTH, not -30 °C.
The 48,000 XLTH gives 51,000 BTU/h at -26 °C, as much as its rated output at +8.3 °C.
At -15 °C, the 30,000 and 36,000 XLTH give 34,000 and 41,000 BTU/h, more than their rated output at +8.3 °C.
At -15 °C, the 48,000 XLTH gives 51,000 BTU/h, against 41,000 for the standard Centauri of the same size.
Its LogisVert subsidy is lower than the standard Centauri’s because it is calculated on the rated output at -8 °C.
All three sizes carry the ENERGY STAR "Most Efficient" designation.
-26 °C, according to Fujitsu.
You sometimes read -30 °C for the Centauri XLTH. Here are the ranges Fujitsu publishes, side by side.
Operating ranges published by Fujitsu. The cooling ranges of the Centauri XLTH and the Orion XLTH+ are not shown here; the Centauri’s runs from -21 to 50 °C.
-30 °C? Fujitsu writes “-15°F to 75°F (-26°C)” for the Centauri XLTH. The -30 °C comes from the Orion XLTH+ wall unit, a different series.
2.5, 3 or 4 tons.

More heat at -15 °C than at +8 °C.
Bars: capacity at -15 °C (ENERGY STAR) and maximum capacity at -26 °C (NEEP). Red tick: the rated values, including the -8 °C one LogisVert uses.
| Size | -15 °C | -26.1 °C |

| XLTH 48,000 | 51,000 BTU/h | 51,000 BTU/h |
At -8 °C the rated value is a part-load test: it is lower than at -15 °C. Fujitsu states no low-temperature lockout for the XLTH.

What Fujitsu adds to XLTH units for winter.
The pan heater’s power, per the NEEP list for all three sizes.
Fujitsu: at 36 °F (2 °C), the heater warms the base of the outdoor unit so condensation does not freeze.
XLTH models have a metal fan guard instead of plastic, according to Fujitsu.
Melt water drains through many holes at the bottom of the unit. We raise the unit so ice does not block them.

From $2,520 to $4,080.
The paradox: the XLTH heats better in deep cold, but gets a little less than the Centauri of the same size, because LogisVert is computed from the value rated at -8 °C.

| XLTH 48,000 | $4,080 | 34,000 BTU/h ÷ 1,000 × $120 = $4,080 |
Since November 26, 2025, only ENERGY STAR certified heat pumps qualify.
The outdoor unit must be at least 12,000 BTU/h nominal in cooling.
For a central system, the indoor unit must not be in the attic or outside the insulation plane.
You apply no later than nine months after installation.

Four questions before counting on LogisVert
- Will the indoor unit or the ducts be in the attic or roof space? No
- Does the house already have a geothermal system? No
- Are you replacing only the outdoor unit, the indoor unit or a coil? No
- Does the replacement follow a breakdown covered by a warranty or insurance? No

Optional Fujitsu electric heater kit, 2 to 16 kW depending on size, on a dedicated circuit.
Back-up heat switches on automatically, with a Fujitsu kit or another heat source.
Minimum heat mode: the home stays at 10 °C, above freezing.
Four fan speeds, plus auto mode.
BACnet and Modbus compatible for home automation and building management.
Input and output terminals to connect a humidifier, an air exchanger, back-up heat or a fire alarm.
R-32 refrigerant: global warming potential of 675, against 2,088 for R-410A.
Compatible with Airzone communicating zoning, according to Fujitsu’s 36,000 submittal.

What people ask us about the Centauri XLTH.
No question matches. Call us at 514 316-2973.
No. Fujitsu publishes a heating range down to -26 °C (-15 °F) for the Centauri XLTH. The -30 °C figure belongs to the Orion XLTH+ wall unit.
According to the NEEP list, up to 51,000 BTU/h for the 48,000 size, 32,000 for the 36,000 and 26,000 for the 30,000.
According to ENERGY STAR, 34,000, 41,000 and 51,000 BTU/h, as much as or more than the rated output at +8 °C.
The outdoor unit (AOUH…KUAH1 instead of KUAS1), a heating range down to -26 °C instead of -21 °C, more heat at -15 °C and a 150 W heated base pan. The AMUH indoor unit is the same.
LogisVert calculates the amount on the rated output at -8 °C. The XLTH’s is lower (34,000 vs 37,200 BTU/h in the 48,000), even though it heats more at -15 °C (51,000 vs 41,000).
$2,520 (30,000), $3,024 (36,000) and $4,080 (48,000), capped at the pre-tax cost, with the application due within nine months.
Yes. All three sizes are ENERGY STAR cold-climate certified and carry the "Most Efficient" designation.
30,000, 36,000 and 48,000 BTU/h, that is 2.5, 3 and 4 tons. The 48,000 size is rated at 45,500 BTU/h in cooling.
Fujitsu states "No Temperature Lockout!" for the XLTH: no automatic cold shutdown.
According to Fujitsu, when the temperature drops to 2 °C (36 °F), it warms the base so that condensation water does not freeze.
Fujitsu offers electric kits from 3 to 16 kW for these indoor units, with automatic back-up activation. Hydro-Québec recommends considering a back-up heat source.
The same as the Centauri: up to 12 years on parts and compressor, with registration within 60 days and an Elite contractor. Labour is not covered by Fujitsu.
