Every number below is read live from the product listings in this collection. Change a listing and the page follows.
How much heat is left when it gets cold, listing by listing.
Dark bar: heat at -8 °C. Light bar: at -15 °C. On the right, the limit DURASTAR publishes for each family.
The cold limit, by family
“Down to”: heating operating range from DURASTAR’s spec sheets (Sirius Heat: -22 °F / -30 °C; non-Sirius: -13 °F / -25 °C; 115 V: -4 °F / -20 °C). Sirius Heat keeps 100% of its rated heating capacity down to 0 °F (-18 °C). DURASTAR publishes no minimum for Advanced and Core.
Why the light bar is sometimes longer: in ENERGY STAR’s listing, the -8 °C (17 °F) figure is the capacity at the certification test point, while the -15 °C (5 °F) figure is the maximum capacity. Both come from the same AHRI number.

Each bar runs from the lowest to the highest indoor sound level listed on that unit’s listing, in dB(A). Shorter and further left means quieter. Tap a bar to open its listing.
Indoor sound pressure levels, lowest and highest, as listed on each product listing. These are the manufacturer’s figures; real sound depends on the room and the installation.

What to know before choosing.
230 V or 115 V
Most DURASTAR wall units run on 230 V. The 9,000 and 12,000 BTU/h also come in 115 V: they heat down to -20 °C, against -25 °C for the same Standard size on 230 V.
Sirius Heat or Standard
Sirius Heat heats down to -30 °C and keeps 100% of its capacity down to -18 °C per DURASTAR. Standard heats down to -25 °C. Compare the certified heat at -8 °C and -15 °C above.
Under 12,000 BTU/h: no LogisVert
Hydro-Québec requires an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h, so the 6,000 and 9,000 BTU/h wall units get no amount.
One room or an open area
A wall unit heats and cools the space it blows into. For several closed rooms, a multi-zone keeps one unit outside; for a home with ducts, see the central system.

Up to $1,692 on these listings: the amount follows the AHRI number.
Hydro-Québec pays $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heat at -8 °C for an ENERGY STAR cold-climate heat pump, $50 for a standard ENERGY STAR one, if the outdoor unit is at least 12,000 BTU/h.

What size for my room?
It depends on the insulation, the windows and how the room is used. We measure on site during the free estimate, then choose the size with you.
R-454B or R-410A: which one?
Both are allowed in Canada for a residential heat pump. R-454B is the “Low GWP” version, with leak detection per DURASTAR’s spec sheets. We compare the LogisVert amount of the exact AHRI number with you.
Can one wall unit heat the whole house?
It heats one room or an open area. For several rooms, see the multi-zone; for a home with ducts, the central system. We look at your home with you during the estimate.
How much is an installed DURASTAR?
Every installation is different: the estimate is free and the price comes with the quote.
Who makes DURASTAR?
DURASTAR is the house brand of Ferguson, a large North American heating and cooling distributor; in Canada, Ferguson does business as Wolseley. The Advanced and Core central systems are warranted by Rheem Sales Company. DURASTAR does not publish who makes its mini-splits.

We look at your home, choose the family and the size, check the LogisVert amount of the exact AHRI number, and hand you a clear quote.
Hydro-Québec does no phone or door-to-door solicitation for LogisVert. An unrequested call “on behalf of Hydro-Québec” is probably a scam.
