The MHA comes in 115 V and in 208-230 V. Here is what the voltage changes.

It is the only LENNOX wall unit in our catalogue in 115 V, at 9,000 and 12,000 BTU/h. LENNOX prints different numbers for each voltage, and they don’t always point the same way: at 12,000, the 115 V has the better certified rating at -8.3 °C, the 208-230 V gives more heat at -15 °C in the table. We show you everything, with each one’s electrical circuit.

Same series, two voltages: what LENNOX prints for each

Two LENNOX sources side by side: the AHRI rating (standard test, at 8.3 and -8.3 °C) and the heating table in bulletin 210901, at 21 °C indoors. Plus the circuit each version calls for.

AHRI rating: certified heat printed by LENNOX at 47 °F and 17 °F (8.3 and -8.3 °C). Table: total heat from bulletin 210901, 21 °C indoors. The MHA has no row below -15 °C: that is the limit of its heating range.

At -15 °C, the limit of its range, the table gives 6,470 BTU/h in 115 V and 8,020 BTU/h in 208-230 V. The two LENNOX sources point in opposite directions: the certified rating favours the 115 V, the table, the 208-230 V.

Three things the LENNOX documents say about the MHA

-1L · -1P

The end of the number gives the voltage

In the LENNOX legend, the 1 is the revision and the letter is the voltage: L for 115 V, P for 208/230 V. The head takes the same letter: the MHA012S4S-1L pairs with the MWHA012S4-1L.

LENNOX, bulletin 210901, p. 2 and 12.
SEER 19

At 9,000, the 115 V is rated more efficient

SEER 19 and HSPF 10 for the MHA009S4S-1L, against 18 and 9.5 for the -1P. But at -15 °C, the 208-230 V table gives 8,230 BTU/h, the 115 V one, 6,320 BTU/h.

LENNOX, bulletin 210901, p. 12, 15 and 16.
7 · 5

The MHA has no extended warranty

The LENNOX certificate marks MHA and MWHA with an asterisk: no extension, with or without registration. That leaves 7 years on the compressor and 5 years on the other covered parts.

LENNOX, W900004-02 (November 11, 2025); bulletin 210901, p. 3.
04 · Warranty and LogisVert

Your MHA: what LENNOX covers, and LogisVert

The warranty is read in the LENNOX certificates; the LogisVert amount, on Hydro-Québec’s list, as carried on our product pages.

What LENNOX covers on an MHA

  • 7 years on the compressor, 5 years on the other covered parts.
  • No extended warranty, with or without registration: MHA and MWHA are excluded.
  • Labour is not covered by LENNOX.
  • The basic warranty follows subsequent owners.
  • Keep the commissioning proof given by the installer.

LENNOX, Basic Limited Warranty W900004-02 (November 11, 2025); bulletin 210901, p. 3.

Why no amount: the LogisVert guide requires an ENERGY STAR certified unit, and none of the six MHA AHRI numbers is in the ENERGY STAR registry checked on October 28, 2026. Amounts read from our product pages (Hydro-Québec list of Oct. 6, 2026, latest check); indicative amounts: only Hydro-Québec confirms the assistance granted. Our LogisVert page.

06 · Questions

What people ask us about the MHA

What do “-1L” and “-1P” mean?

The 1 is the revision and the letter is the voltage: L for 115 V, P for 208/230 V, single phase, 60 Hz. The head carries the same letter as the outdoor unit: the MHA012S4S-1L goes with the MWHA012S4-1L.

What does a 115 V MHA need electrically?

For the 115 V 9,000, LENNOX calls for a circuit of at least 16 A protected at 20 A at most; for the 115 V 12,000, 15 A and 20 A. We check the panel at the visit: AirGreen holds RBQ subclass 16 (electrical).

How cold does the MHA heat?

LENNOX gives it a heating range of 5 to 86 °F, i.e. -15 to 30 °C, and its table stops at -15 °C. At Montréal-Trudeau, the January average low is -13.5 °C and about 12 nights a year drop below -20 °C: keep your existing heating for those nights.

Why doesn’t the MHA get 12 years of warranty?

LENNOX certificate W900004-02 marks MHA and MWHA with an asterisk: no extended warranty. That leaves 7 years on the compressor and 5 years on the other covered parts. The MLA and the MPB get 12 years parts and compressor in Québec, with no registration.

What does the H in MHA stand for?

LENNOX doesn’t say. At that position, the legend in its bulletin prints “P = Heat Pump”, and the H is defined nowhere. We don’t make up a meaning for it.

Does the MHA qualify for LogisVert?

No. The LogisVert guide requires an ENERGY STAR certified unit, and none of the six MHA AHRI numbers is in the ENERGY STAR registry (checked October 28, 2026). Only Hydro-Québec confirms the assistance granted.

Do you repair MHA units?

Yes. See our LENNOX repair page, or send us a photo of the outdoor unit’s nameplate.

Which size for my room?

It is decided on site. We look at the room, the insulation, the windows, the heating in place and the electrical panel, then suggest the size. The estimate is free.
