The AIRCOREAHUKIT1 control box is the genuine Hitachi part that provides control and the RDS interface for the JPE air handlers of the airCore 700 central heat pump. It links the air handler, its control and the refrigerant detection system.
An air handler designed for A2L refrigerant
The airCore 700 runs on R-32, an A2L-class refrigerant. The JPE air handler installation manual describes a refrigerant sensor and an RDS mitigation board: if refrigerant is detected, the system applies the measures set out by the manufacturer, and an indicator light shows the sensor's status with a series of flashes.

Send us the model numbers of the air handler and the outdoor unit: we confirm the part before ordering it. The connection is made with all power sources shut off, and the manufacturer requires an on-site sensor test once the wiring is done.

What to know before installing

What is RDS?
