The SPX-WFG58CM extension cable goes with Hitachi’s SPX-WFA01 Wi-Fi adapter. The manufacturer lists it on the submittal sheets for airHome RAD-GJ ducted units and RAI-GJ mini-cassettes, the recessed units of multi-zone systems.
The airCloud Go app on a recessed unit
On a wall unit, the Wi-Fi adapter mounts directly under the unit. A ducted unit or a mini-cassette is hidden in the ceiling: it is for these units that Hitachi lists this extension cable with the adapter. Once connected, the adapter gives access to the airCloud Go app: on and off, temperature, mode, fan and the Smart-Fence feature.

- RAD-GJ07, RAD-GJ09, RAD-GJ12 and RAD-GJ24QHAA ducted units.
- RAI-GJ07, RAI-GJ09, RAI-GJ12 and RAI-GJ24QHAA mini-cassettes.
What to plan for
The SPX-WFA01 adapter is ordered separately and needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network at its location. On a new installation, we choose that location before the ceiling is closed. The connection is made with the power off, by a technician.

Do I need it for a wall unit?
airHome wall unit sheets do not list it. It is for RAD-GJ ducted units and RAI-GJ mini-cassettes.
Does it replace the Wi-Fi adapter?
No. It works with the SPX-WFA01 adapter, which is still needed for the airCloud Go app.
Will Wi-Fi reach through the ceiling?
The adapter needs a 2.4 GHz network where it is placed. We check coverage at installation.
Can you install it?
