Quick facts
The SPX-RKDN1 kit combines a wireless remote and its receiver. Hitachi lists it as the remote with receiver for airHome RAD-GJ ducted units, the multi-zone indoor units concealed in a ceiling or a closet and connected to ducts.
A hidden unit, a control in the room
A ducted unit is out of sight: it blows air through registers, and the unit itself is out of a remote’s reach. The receiver, placed in the room being served, picks up the remote’s commands and passes them to the indoor unit. It is the wireless solution the manufacturer provides for finished basements and floors served by a ducted unit.
Units covered
- RAD-GJ07QHAA and RAD-GJ09QHAA
- RAD-GJ12QHAA and RAD-GJ24QHAA
Other ways to control a RAD-GJ
Hitachi also offers the SPX-URFG1 wired remote, mounted on the wall, and the SPX-WFA01 Wi-Fi adapter, with the SPX-WFG58CM extension cable, for the airCloud Go app. The French version of this kit is part number SPX-RKDN3.
