Quick facts
A 41 kW electric boiler built to last: replaceable elements, stage rotation, clear alarms
The VoltMax 41 on 208 V single phase
Thermo 2000’s VoltMax is a hot water electric boiler intended for commercial and institutional buildings. This 41 kW model runs on 208 V single phase and draws 198.7 A. It is part of the series’ configuration A, which groups the 22.5 to 90 kW sizes.
It is intended for buildings on 208 V single phase that heat through a hot water loop: apartment buildings, offices, stores. It feeds radiators, radiant floors or hot water coils, and can serve an indirect water heater thanks to its controller’s second setpoint.
What gets replaced, what gets monitored
A commercial boiler has to last, and its maintenance has to stay simple. The VoltMax 41 heats the water with Incoloy immersion elements that Thermo 2000 designs to be replaced: 5 elements of 5 kW and 5 of 6 kW, as rated. The controller rotates the stages, so the work is shared among the elements instead of always using the same ones.
The output goes through SCR solid-state relays that vary it from 0 to 100%, in addition to relay stages. Thermo 2000 points out that this modulation limits peak power demand, and describes the boiler as quiet, clean and low maintenance.
On the safety side, the manufacturer supplies two limit controls, one automatic and one manual, a factory-installed relief valve and the control and power fuses and breakers. The low water cut-off is available as an option on this size. When a fault occurs, the Schneider Electric controller shows an alarm code on its 3 in backlit screen and can send it by email through its Ethernet port.
What installation by AirGreen covers
The on-site estimate is free, in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore or on the South Shore. At 198.7 A, the boiler needs an electrical service with capacity to spare: we check it first, along with the panel and the conductor route. The written quote also specifies the circulator and expansion tank, which are not among the parts supplied by Thermo 2000.
We install the boiler with the required clearances, including 24 in in front and 32 in above, connect it through its 1 1/2 in NPT connections, mount the included outdoor sensor and make the electrical connection. We fill and purge the loop, set the setpoint and outdoor reset, then show you how to read the alarm codes.
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 in ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 10 years (limited warranty, closed-loop heating) and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years, parts and accessories.

A commercial boiler designed with maintenance in mind
The VoltMax 41 heats the hot water loop of a building supplied at 208 V single phase. Its elements are replaceable, its controller rotates the stages and shows alarm codes: maintenance is planned instead of endured.
- Commercial or apartment buildings on 208 V single phase
- Property managers who want replaceable parts and diagnosis by alarm codes
- Radiator, radiant floor or hot water coil loops
- Replacing an electric boiler at the end of its life
Specifications
From the manufacturer’s documentation. A value the manufacturer does not publish is not listed.
What to know before installing
- 208 V single-phase, 60 Hz power supply at 198.7 A: the building’s electrical service must have that capacity available. We check it before quoting.
- The elements carry 5 kW and 6 kW ratings; the output Thermo 2000 publishes for this model at 208 V is 41 kW.
- Neither the circulator nor the expansion tank is on the manufacturer’s list of supplied parts.
- Clearances: 24 in in front, 32 in above, 3 in on the sides and at the back, none at the floor.
- Low water cut-off optional on this size (standard above 60 kW).
- Schneider Electric controller with backlit display
- Outdoor temperature sensor
- Control ON/OFF switch
- Control and power fuses and breakers
- SCR relays
- 2 limit controls, one automatic, one manual
- Factory-installed relief valve
- Drain valve

Frequently asked questions
Can the heating elements be replaced?
Yes. Thermo 2000 uses replaceable Incoloy immersion elements. This model has 5 of 5 kW and 5 of 6 kW (ratings).
What is stage rotation for?
The controller alternates the order in which the stages start, sharing the work among the elements instead of always using the same ones. SCR modulation from 0 to 100% then adjusts the output.
How does the boiler report a fault?
Through alarm codes shown on the 3 in backlit screen, in French or English, and by email through the controller’s Ethernet port.
Which safety devices are supplied?
Thermo 2000 supplies 2 limit controls (one automatic, one manual), a factory-installed relief valve and the control and power fuses and breakers. The low water cut-off is available as an option on this size.
What warranty does Thermo 2000 offer?
10 years on the tank (limited warranty, closed-loop heating) and 2 years on electrical and mechanical components, parts and accessories.
