Quick facts
This Direct Air wall controller (part no. 17317100A36594) controls the Magic Pro central system, Direct Air’s central heat pump paired with a multi-position air handler with a variable-speed ECM motor. It mounts on the wall and gives access to mode, set point and fan, with Wi-Fi for remote control.
The original Magic Pro control
Direct Air ships the Magic Pro air handler with a wireless remote and a programmable wired controller as standard, and lists Wi-Fi as an option. This controller is therefore used to replace a damaged controller, to add one, or to switch to Wi-Fi control. The air handlers covered range from DIRM-18MAGICPRO20-AH to DIRM-60MAGICPRO20-AH, or 18,000 to 60,000 BTU.
Good to know before ordering
- Direct Air offers two families of wired controllers for the Magic Pro: RS485 communication or non-polarized two-wire.
- The manufacturer also presents the air handler as compatible with most 24 V thermostats.
- We confirm compatibility with your air handler and your current controller before any order.
Installation
The controller connects to the air handler with the unit powered off. We then connect it to your Wi-Fi network and check each operating mode with you.
