Quick facts
For an H-series AIRSTAGE heat pump to join an AIRSTAGE VRF network, you need the GENERAL AIRSTAGE UTY-VTGX network converter. We also carry the same part under the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE brand: Fujitsu General Limited has operated as GENERAL Inc. since January 1, 2026, the Fujitsu brand is being phased out gradually and, during the transition, the part is sold under both names.
According to the manufacturer, its role is to convert H-series communication protocol into that of the V and J series; without it, the manufacturer adds, a split system cannot connect to a VRF network.
Every unit under one central control
A building that already has a VRF sometimes takes on wall-mounted heat pumps, cassettes or ducted units to serve a server room, an office or an added space. Thanks to the converter, the VRF central control recognizes them and runs them just like the rest of the units. It plugs into the wired remote control terminal and works just as well on a 2-wire line as on a 3-wire line.
Published specifications
- 12 V DC power, over 3 polarized wires or 2 non-polarized wires, and maximum consumption of 1.2 W
- Dimensions of 140 × 117 × 43 mm (H × W × D), 250 g net
- Capacity: a maximum of 16 indoor units per converter and 100 converters per VRF network
To add depending on the installation
Wall-mounted units and floor units need, according to the manufacturer’s sheets, their communication kit (UTY-TWRXZ2, UTY-TWRXZ4 or UTY-TWRXZ3). An installation with two remote controls calls instead for the UTY-VTGXV, another version offered by the manufacturer, powered at 220-240 V AC.
Installation coordinated with the VRF manager
AirGreen fits the converter and the required kit in concert with whoever manages the VRF network, in Montréal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore and on the South Shore. Our RBQ licence, 5645-9605-01, covers all of this work. To check availability or request a quote, contact us at 514 316-2973 or sales@airgreen.ca.
Residential heat pumps inside VRF management
The manufacturer states this converter is required to connect a single-split system to a VRF network.
- Buildings with an AIRSTAGE VRF system that add wall units or cassettes
- One central control for the VRF and the single-split units
- Server rooms, offices or technical rooms added to an existing building
- Projects where the AIRSTAGE (GENERAL or Fujitsu) central control must see every unit
