The Fujitsu UTZ-EU electric heat kit fits inside the cabinet of the AMUH multi-position air handler of a Fujitsu AIRSTAGE central heat pump. It warms the air already passing through the air handler and takes over from the heat pump during defrost cycles or in extreme cold. This page groups the six kits designed for the small cabinet: AMUH12KUAS, AMUH18KUAS and AMUH24KUAS.
Backup heat chosen to match the air handler
Fujitsu does not offer a universal kit: its submittal sheet lists, for each air handler, the outputs that suit it. All are powered at 208/240 V. Models ending in MSA heat in one stage, those ending in MSB2 in two stages, so the second stage only comes on when demand rises.

- AMUH12KUAS: UTZ-EU02MSA (2 kW, 1 stage) or UTZ-EU04MSB2 (4 kW, 2 stages)
- AMUH18KUAS: UTZ-EU03MSA (3 kW, 1 stage) or UTZ-EU06MSB2 (6 kW, 2 stages)
- AMUH24KUAS: UTZ-EU02MSA (2 kW), UTZ-EU04MSA (4 kW, 1 stage) or UTZ-EU08MSB2 (8 kW, 2 stages)
Before ordering
Note the full model number on the air handler’s nameplate. The choice of output also depends on the building’s heating load and the capacity of your electrical service: the circuit must be sized according to the nameplate and the Québec Construction Code. The AMUH30 to AMUH48 air handlers use another series of kits (medium cabinet), offered on a separate page.

- Wiring is done with the power off, by a licensed electrician or refrigeration technician.

Fujitsu pairs each kit with specific air handlers. For example, UTZ-EU03MSA and UTZ-EU06MSB2 are listed for the AMUH18KUAS. Send us your air handler model number and we confirm before ordering.
What is the difference between 1 and 2 stages?
A 2-stage kit heats in two steps: the first is often enough, the second comes on when demand rises. A 1-stage kit works as a single block.
Do these kits fit an AMUH30 to 48?
No. The AMUH30KUAS, AMUH36KUAS and AMUH48KUAS use the UTZ-EU…MMA and MMB2 series, on a separate page.
