Fujitsu UTZ-EU…MMA and MMB2 electric heater kits install in the medium cabinet of the AMUH30KUAS, AMUH36KUAS and AMUH48KUAS multi-position air handlers. They provide backup heat for a 2.5 to 4 ton Fujitsu AIRSTAGE central heat pump, when the heat pump is defrosting or the cold goes beyond what it can supply on its own.
Seven outputs, from 3 to 16 kW
In a house heated through ducts, backup output makes the difference on -25 °C mornings. Fujitsu offers seven 208/240 V kits for this cabinet: MMA models heat in one stage, MMB2 models in two stages, adding the second stage only when demand requires it.

Choosing the right output
A bigger kit is not always the best choice: it needs a larger circuit and can exceed the capacity of the electrical service in an existing house. The choice is based on the building's heating load, the heat pump's low-temperature output and the available electrical service. The circuit is sized according to the nameplate and the Québec Construction Code.

Can I put a 16 kW kit on an AMUH30?
Fujitsu lists UTZ-EU16MMB2 for the AMUH48KUAS only. For the AMUH30KUAS, the listed kits go up to UTZ-EU10MMB2.

No. The small cabinet uses the UTZ-EU…MSA and MSB2 series, on a separate page.
