Why width matters so much
A cased coil sits directly on the electric furnace or air handler. When both cabinets have the same width, they fit flush and the connection stays simple and tight. When they differ, a transition piece has to be added, with more joints to seal. The 2-ton capacity comes in two widths in the END4X series: 14-3/16 in with the END4X24L14A, and 17-1/2 in with the END4X24L17A shown here.
What the END4X24L17A offers
It is a 2-ton (24,000 BTU/h) N evaporator coil, R-410A, housed in a 17-1/2 in (445 mm) cabinet. The cabinet is pre-painted steel, insulated with foil-faced insulation and designed not to sweat; its front panel comes off for service and its flanges are hemmed. Inside, the main tubing and fins are aluminum, with copper stubs for the connections, and the TXV is bolted on at the factory, equalizer tube already brazed in.
The coil installs in upflow or downflow and has two condensate drain connections. Arcoaire presents its N coils as shorter than comparable A coils.

This size suits townhouses, duplexes and small single-family homes heated by a 17-1/2 in electric furnace, whether in Longueuil, on the North Shore or elsewhere in the region. It is used to add central air conditioning or to replace a cased coil of the same width. The blower must be able to deliver 700 to 900 CFM, the range given for this size.
The ICP sheet does not state use with a heat pump and does not name every dimension on its drawing. We therefore confirm the match with the outdoor unit and measure the available height before any order.

Our technicians set the coil on the unit, connect the plenum, braze the refrigerant lines and hook up the condensate drain, then run the leak test, the evacuation and commissioning. Arcoaire grants a 5-year limited parts warranty, plus an additional 5 years with timely registration, for owner-occupied homes. This model is available while supplies last; sold alone, it is not eligible for the LogisVert grant.

The END4X24L17A has the same capacity as the END4X24L14A, but in a 17-1/2 in cabinet. It sits on an electric furnace or air handler of that width, in upflow or downflow, and connects to a 2-ton R-410A outdoor unit.

How do I know if my unit is 17-1/2 in wide?
Measure the width of the furnace or air handler cabinet, or send us its model number: we check before ordering.
What if the width does not match?
A transition piece is then needed between the coil and the unit. We prefer to propose the coil of the right width, for example the END4X24L14A for a 14-3/16 in cabinet.
Why a cased coil?
It arrives in its own insulated cabinet, with a front access panel, and lines up with the unit. An uncased coil, by contrast, goes into a plenum built on site.
Does it work with a heat pump?
The ICP spec sheet does not say so for this model. We confirm the match with your outdoor unit before ordering.
What weight should I plan for?
The ICP sheet gives 40 lb (18 kg) shipping weight.
