Quick facts
A 2.5-ton coil with a cabinet that does not sweat
Humidity, the coil’s other job
An evaporator coil does more than cool the air: during the muggy days of a Quebec summer, it also removes a lot of moisture. That water runs down the fins and has to be drained. The cold coil also cools its own cabinet, and in a damp basement, poorly insulated sheet metal ends up beading with water. Arcoaire’s END4X30L14A addresses both points: its pre-painted steel cabinet is insulated with foil-faced insulation and designed not to sweat, and the coil has two condensate drain connections.
What the END4X30L14A is
It is a 2.5-ton (30,000 BTU/h) N evaporator coil, R-410A, housed in a 14-3/16 in wide cabinet. That cabinet lines up flush with furnace and air handler cabinets of the same width. The TXV is bolted on at the factory, equalizer tube already brazed in; main tubing and fins are aluminum, with copper stubs for the connections. The front panel comes off for service.
It installs in upflow or downflow. Arcoaire presents its N coils as shorter than comparable A coils, an asset above a furnace under a low ceiling.
Which homes it suits
This size is for single-family homes and duplexes heated by a 14-3/16 in electric furnace, often installed in an unfinished basement or a mechanical room, in Laval, in Longueuil and elsewhere. It lets you add central air conditioning or replace a cased coil of the same width. The blower must be able to deliver 875 to 1,125 CFM, the range given for this size.
Our installation
The on-site estimate is free and you receive a written quote. We measure the height available above the furnace, because the ICP sheet does not name every dimension on its drawing, and we confirm the match with the outdoor unit, since the sheet does not state use with a heat pump. We also plan the condensate route to a floor drain or a pump.
On installation day, our technicians set the coil, connect the plenum, braze the refrigerant lines, hook up the drain, run the leak test and the evacuation, then commission the system. AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 in ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work.
Arcoaire offers a 5-year limited parts warranty, plus an additional 5 years with timely registration, for owner-occupied homes. Available while supplies last; sold alone, this coil is not eligible for the LogisVert grant.

Frequently asked questions
Why a non-sweat cabinet?
The cold coil also cools its cabinet. In a damp basement, uninsulated sheet metal can bead with water. ICP describes this cabinet as insulated with foil-faced insulation and designed not to sweat.
Where does the condensate go?
The coil has two drain connections. We send the water to a floor drain or to a condensate pump, depending on the basement layout.
Is the 2.5-ton size right for my home?
The right size depends on the home’s cooling needs and on the matched outdoor unit. We assess them during the free estimate.
Does it work with a heat pump?
The ICP spec sheet does not say so for this model. We confirm the match with your outdoor unit before ordering.
How much does the coil weigh?
The ICP sheet gives 47 lb (21 kg) shipping weight.
