At -20 °C, the CB22 24,000 still gives 16,000 BTU/h. Zephyr publishes no capacity at -25 °C for the CB22, its heating limit.Source: CB22 brochure BRO_2606.
1 kWh of electricity, how much heat?
The first panel gives the COP of each CB22 at +8.3 and -15 °C; the second, the electricity needed to cool a season based on each size’s SEER2.
COP per the Zephyr BRO_2606 brochure; resistance heat: 100% (US DOE), so COP 1.
Illustrative math: SEER2 is, by definition (DOE, Appendix M1), the heat removed over the season divided by the electricity used, in BTU per watt-hour. Cost at Hydro-Québec’s Rate D second-tier price (11.142¢/kWh since April 1, 2026), which applies if use exceeds the first tier (40 kWh per day, times the number of days in the period); below it, a kWh costs 7.065¢. Before taxes and access fees. Your home will have its own numbers.
At -15 °C, the CB22 18,000 keeps a COP of 2.4: 2.4 kWh of heat for 1 kWh of electricity.Source: CB22 brochure BRO_2606, “COP at -15 °C”.

The CB22’s R-32.
The CB22 uses R-32, an A2L refrigerant with a GWP of 675. In Canada, no GWP limit applies to residential heat pumps (SOR/2016-137, Schedule 1.1).
GWP and ASHRAE class per the EPA (SNAP, March 19, 2026). A2L: mildly flammable, burning at most 10 cm/s.
Factory charge per the BRO_2606 brochure, in ounces. Scale: 0 to 72 oz.
R-32 is a single-component refrigerant (difluoromethane, HFC-32) with a GWP of 675, 67.7% less than R-410A (2,090).Source: EPA SNAP (March 19, 2026); SOR/2016-137, Schedule 1, Table 4.

For a heat pump or air conditioner bought new from a merchant on or after October 5, 2026, Quebec law adds a free, automatic 6-year warranty of good working order, counted from delivery (Office de la protection du consommateur). Under TTI’s parts policy (v3.4, July 17, 2026), labour to replace a part during that period falls on the installing contractor.
Service or repair by anyone not certified and authorized by TTI (or Kinghome) ends the manufacturer’s conventional warranty (TTI, s. 4.4).
If something breaks, you call the contractor who installed it; they file the claim with TTI.
TTI’s policy asks owners to clean the indoor unit filters at least once a month (s. 6.3).
We look at the rooms, where the units go and the line set route.
The exact model, the AHRI number, the indicative LogisVert amount when it applies.
Vacuum, refrigerant charge, heating and cooling tests.
We register the units with TTI for you: nameplate, serial numbers, invoice.

Each blog post shows one Zephyr installation: the unit, the place, how it was done.

What people ask us about the CB22.
No question matches. Call us at 514-316-2973.
It heats down to -25 °C per Zephyr, with no capacity published at -25 °C. For main heating all winter, we recommend the CB25 or UB32 instead, which run in heating mode down to -30 °C per Zephyr.
Yes. “Série 23” is our old shop name for the R-32 CB22. Not to be confused with the Zephyr 23, an R-410A unit.
Only the 18,000, for $740 (ENERGY STAR standard, $50 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8 °C). The 9,000 is below the 12,000 BTU/h minimum; the 12,000 and 24,000 are not listed by ENERGY STAR.
Both are certified: 23 with the ZE-09CB22I indoor unit, 22.5 with the ZE-09CB22AI, which the current brochure prints. We put the exact pair on your quote.
Yes, at 9,000 and 12,000: these are the DB22 (ZE-09DB22 and ZE-12DB22). The 18,000 and 24,000 are 208/230 V.
In silent mode: 28 dB(A) for the 9,000 and 12,000, 33 for the 18,000 and 24,000. Outdoors: 52 to 60 dB(A), per the brochure.
Nine months after installation, per guide v1.10. Hydro-Québec pays by mail, 10 to 12 weeks after a complete application. The invoice must show the contractor’s RBQ licence number and the AHRI or ENERGY STAR number.
Zephyr base warranty: 10 years on parts. For a heat pump bought new on or after October 5, 2026, Quebec law adds a 6-year warranty of good working order, counted from delivery. Service or repair by anyone not certified and authorized by TTI (or Kinghome) ends the manufacturer’s conventional warranty.
The BRO_2606 brochure does not mention it and ENERGY STAR lists it as “not connected”. It is controlled with its LED wireless remote.
ENERGY STAR certifies each outdoor + indoor pair. The CB22 9,000 and 18,000 come with two indoor units, I and AI: each pair has its own number. The DB22 9,000 has one; the 12,000, the 24,000 and the DB22 12,000 are not listed by ENERGY STAR.
We choose it during the visit, room by room: floor area, exposure, windows and insulation matter more than a rule of thumb.
Your CB22, chosen for the room and installed by AirGreen.
We come and see the room, choose the size and voltage with you, and hand you a clear quote with the pair’s AHRI number and the indicative LogisVert amount.
Hydro-Québec does not solicit anyone by phone or door to door for LogisVert. A call “from Hydro-Québec” selling a heat pump? Hang up.
