GENERAL AIRSTAGE Remote Temperature Sensor – UTY-XSZXZ1

Identical to the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE model, the GENERAL AIRSTAGE UTY-XSZXZ1 remote temperature sensor is a wall-mounted sensor that tracks the air temperature of the room the system serves. The name changed on January 1, 2026, when Fujitsu General Limited became GENERAL Inc.; the manufacturer, its factories and its AIRSTAGE line stayed the same, model numbers included. GENERAL intends the sensor for three families of equipment: ADUH slim ducted units, ARUH medium static pressure ducted units and AMUH multi-position air handlers. The same part under the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE brand remains available alongside the GENERAL one during the transition.

Measure where you live, not inside the ceiling

A ducted unit or air handler is often tucked away in a ceiling, an attic, a closet or a basement. In that spot, the temperature picked up by the unit can differ from that of the occupied room, and the heat pump then shuts off too early or too late. With the sensor on the wall, the air in the lived-in room becomes the reference, and the unit can hold the set point where it matters. The sensor is most helpful when the system is run from a wireless remote and no wall controller with its own sensor is in place.

The right location

Aim for an interior wall in the main room, at occupant height, away from direct sun, supply registers, appliances that give off heat and doors that open to the outside. The indoor unit then has to be told which sensor to use as its reference: that setting is made in the unit itself.
