Quick facts
15 kW on the wall to heat the home or take over from your heat pump
A wall-mounted boiler that plays two roles
Thermo 2000’s BTH ULTRA 15 can be the main heat source of a home heated with hot water, or the backup for a heat pump, a geothermal system or solar collectors. Either way, it delivers 15 kW at 240 V, or 51,180 BTU/h, in a 63 lb wall-mounted cabinet that holds 2 US gallons of water.
This size suits a bungalow heated by radiators, a single-storey home with radiant floors in the basement, or a homeowner who has installed an air-to-water heat pump and wants reliable backup for January nights. It also easily replaces a wall-mounted electric boiler at the end of its life.
What sets it apart
The BTH ULTRA 15 combines two 3 kW elements and two 4.5 kW elements, spread over four stages. The T2 UltraSmart controller modulates output based on the loop’s demand and sets the water temperature from the supplied outdoor sensor, on one of three curves (MIN, STD, MAX). The backlit display shows the settings, and presets by distribution system make commissioning easier, whether for radiant floors, baseboards or radiators.
When the boiler serves as backup, these settings come into their own. Warm weather shutdown keeps it at rest during periods when the heat pump is enough, and Boost mode is there for more demanding mornings. Pump purge and a 24 V supply for the thermostat and accessories round out the controller.
What to plan electrically
At 240 V single phase, the boiler draws 62.5 A and Thermo 2000 lists an 80 A breaker. The wire gauge is confirmed with the installation manual. If your building is supplied at 208 V, Thermo 2000 states that output is multiplied by 0.75: we take this into account when choosing the size.
What AirGreen’s installation covers
We start with a free on-site estimate: heating loop, main source if any, electrical panel and wall space. You receive a written quote describing the chosen size and each step. Our technicians then install the boiler, connect it to the loop through its 1 in NPT connections and to the electrical circuit, fill and purge the system, then set the controller to work with your heat pump or on its own.

Frequently asked questions
Why two element sizes?
The BTH ULTRA 15 combines two 3 kW elements and two 4.5 kW elements to reach 15 kW over four stages. The T2 UltraSmart controller modulates output based on the loop’s demand.
Can it back up an air-to-water heat pump?
Yes. Thermo 2000 presents the BTH ULTRA as backup for a heat pump, a geothermal system or a solar system. We set the boiler so it supplements your main source.
Which breaker does it need?
An 80 A breaker on a 240 V single-phase circuit; the unit draws 62.5 A. We confirm the wire gauge with the installation manual and check your panel during the free estimate.
What comes with the boiler?
The 30 psi relief valve, drain valve, two reducers, outdoor sensor and temperature and pressure gauge.
How hot does it heat the water?
The operating range is 50 °F to 190 °F (10 °C to 90 °C). An automatic limit at 208 °F and a manual limit at 227 °F protect the unit.
