Quick facts
A 20 kW electric boiler to heat the whole home with hot water
What the BTH ULTRA 20 is
Thermo 2000’s BTH ULTRA 20 is a 20 kW, 240 V wall-mounted electric boiler, or 68,240 BTU/h. Its four 5 kW elements work over four stages of equal output, controlled by the T2 UltraSmart controller. It weighs 63 lb and holds 2 US gallons of water: a compact unit that leaves room in the mechanical room.
This size is aimed at homes that rely entirely on hot water for heat. Think of new construction where radiant floors cover every level, or a renovated home that keeps its radiators and hot water baseboards. Thermo 2000 designs it for new installations and replacements alike, and as backup for a heat pump, geothermal or solar.
Well suited to radiant floors
A radiant floor performs best when the water temperature follows the weather. That is the job of the supplied outdoor sensor: the controller uses it to set the water on one of three curves (MIN, STD, MAX), and presets by distribution system save starting from scratch. Warm weather shutdown leaves the slab alone when the spring sun is enough, and Boost mode remains available.
The controller also provides a 24 V supply for the thermostat and accessories, as well as a pump purge function. The backlit display makes the settings easy to read.
An electrical load to plan early
In a construction or renovation project, the boiler circuit is planned from the start. At 240 V single phase, the BTH ULTRA 20 draws 83.3 A; Thermo 2000 lists a 110 A breaker and copper wire gauge 3 or aluminum gauge 2. At 208 V, output is multiplied by 0.75, a point to check in some buildings.
What AirGreen’s installation covers
We first meet you for a free on-site estimate, ideally before the walls are closed in new construction. You receive a written quote describing the boiler, its location and the planned electrical work. Our technicians then mount the boiler, connect it to the loop through its 1 in female NPT connections (two reducers supplied) and to the electrical circuit, fill and purge the system, then set the temperature curve and the thermostat.
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 in ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 15 years and electrical and mechanical components for 2 years.

Frequently asked questions
Is it a good choice for a new home with radiant floors?
Thermo 2000 designs the BTH ULTRA for new installations as well as replacements, and radiant floors are among the systems it serves. We confirm the output against the home’s heating needs before ordering.
What electrical service does it need?
A 240 V single-phase circuit with a 110 A breaker and copper wire gauge 3 or aluminum gauge 2, according to Thermo 2000. The unit draws 83.3 A.
Can it be connected to a thermostat?
Yes. The T2 UltraSmart controller provides a 24 V supply for the thermostat and accessories.
What pressure must the loop stay within?
The maximum working pressure is 30 psi (207 kPa). The 30 psi relief valve supplied with the boiler protects the system.
What warranty does Thermo 2000 offer?
15 years on the tank and 2 years on electrical and mechanical components.
