The LG ANEH electric element is the OEM backup heat for LG multi-position air handler cabinets. It installs in the central heat pump cabinet and its control harness plugs into the cabinet’s board: the LG unit turns it on when the heat pump can no longer keep up, during a defrost or for emergency heat.
Electric backup designed for extreme cold
In Québec, a central heat pump loses capacity as the outdoor temperature drops. The element closes the gap without changing equipment. LG offers it in 5, 10, 15 and 20 kW at 230 V (4.1, 8.2, 12.3 and 16.4 kW at 208 V), 208/230 V single-phase. LG shows it with its bracket, its built-in breaker and a bimetal relay.
The right element for your cabinet
- ANEH053C1 (5 kW): 12,000 to 60,000 BTU/h cabinets, one circuit, 30 A breaker.
- ANEH103C2 (10 kW): from 18,000 BTU/h, one circuit, 60 A breaker.
- ANEH153C3 (15 kW): from 36,000 BTU/h, two circuits (60 A and 30 A).
- ANEH203C3 (20 kW): from 42,000 BTU/h, two circuits (60 A and 60 A).
Compatible cabinets and points to check
LG lists them for the KNSLBxxxA and KNSLAxxxA single-zone cabinets, Multi F / Multi F MAX KNMLBxxxA and Multi V ZRNUxxxNAAA, NBAA and NCAA. The element needs a separate power supply. If a third-party thermostat is connected through a dry contact, it cannot control the backup heat. Wiring follows the LG manual and the electrical code.

What to know before installing
- Check the air handler size: 5 kW fits every size, 10 kW from 18,000 Btu/h, 15 kW from 36,000 Btu/h, 20 kW from 42,000 Btu/h.
- The heater needs its own power supply, separate from the air handler.
- The 15 and 20 kW kits have two power circuits.
- With a third-party thermostat on a dry contact, supplemental heat cannot be controlled by that thermostat.
- The electrical connection is a job for a licensed electrician.

Frequently asked questions
Which heater fits my LG air handler?
Per LG’s grid: 5 kW on every air handler from 12,000 to 60,000 Btu/h, 10 kW from 18,000 Btu/h, 15 kW from 36,000 Btu/h and 20 kW from 42,000 Btu/h. Send us the air handler model number (KNSL…, KNML… or ZRNU…) and we confirm before ordering.
Why two ratings, 208 V and 230 V?
Real output drops with voltage. A 10 kW kit at 230 V delivers 8.2 kW at 208 V, per LG’s sheet.
Do I need a breaker at the panel?
Yes. The kit has a built-in breaker, but it needs a separate supply protected at the panel, sized per LG’s sheet and the code.
Can you install it?
Yes. We fit the kit in the air handler and connect it with a licensed electrician, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
