Arcoaire EHK electric heater kits install in Arcoaire FVM4X variable-speed and FCM4X Observer communicating fan coils. They provide backup heat for a central heat pump by warming the air already moving through the ductwork. This page groups six kits, from 5 to 30 kW.
Six outputs for FVM4X and FCM4X fan coils
For each kit, Arcoaire publishes the fan coil sizes that accept it and its electrical values at 208 and 230 V. The 5 and 10 kW kits are protected by built-in circuit breakers; the 15 to 30 kW kits by fuses. Part number EHK25AHCF is a 24 kW kit.
The kits and their fan coils
- EHK05AKB (5 kW), EHK10AKB (10 kW), EHK15AKF (15 kW) and EHK20AKF (20 kW): every size, from 2400 to 6000
- EHK25AHCF (24 kW) and EHK30AHCF (30 kW): sizes 4800 and 6000 only
One or several circuits
The 5 and 10 kW kits connect to a single circuit. The 15 and 20 kW kits are fed by one circuit or two; for single-point wiring, Arcoaire lists the EBAC01SPK kit, sold separately. The 24 and 30 kW kits ship as 3-phase and convert to single phase, with one circuit or three. Arcoaire also states that the 15 and 20 kW kits are not recommended for some heat pump applications: the fan coil airflow is checked before choosing. Have your electrical service checked before choosing a high output.

What to know before installing
- The 24 and 30 kW kits are listed for sizes 4800 and 6000 only.
- Arcoaire states the 15 and 20 kW kits are not recommended for some heat pump applications: the fan coil airflow must be checked.
- EHK25AHCF and EHK30AHCF ship as 3-phase; they are converted to single phase on site.
- The manufacturer requires copper wire; the circuit is sized from the nameplate and the Québec electrical code.

Which kit fits my fan coil?
Per Arcoaire, the 5 to 20 kW kits fit every FVM4X and FCM4X size from 2400 to 6000; the 24 and 30 kW kits fit sizes 4800 and 6000 only. We pick the output from a heating load calculation.
Why is EHK25AHCF a 24 kW kit?
That is the output Arcoaire publishes for this part number. It ships as 3-phase and converts to single phase, with one circuit or three.
Do I need a single-point wiring kit?
For the 15 and 20 kW fused kits, Arcoaire lists the EBAC01SPK single-point wiring kit, sold separately.
