The Élios LI2C1 large 24 V interface is a wall-mounted box that lets you pair an inverter Élios outdoor unit with indoor equipment controlled by a 24 V thermostat: a coil installed on a furnace, an air handler or a unit from another brand. It is powered at 208-230 V single-phase.

Adding an Élios heat pump without changing everything indoors

When you replace a central air conditioner or add a heat pump to a home heated by a furnace, the indoor equipment does not have Élios’s original controls. The LI2C1 receives the thermostat signals, reads the room and coil temperatures, and communicates with the outdoor unit over a current loop or RS485. Élios presents it for its multi-zone outdoor units and some single-zone units.

What it handles

  • 2 cooling stages and 2 heating stages.
  • Dehumidification, electric auxiliary heat and emergency heat.
  • Sensors supplied: T1 for the room (0.8 m, with a 5 m extension) and T2 for the coil (1.6 m).

Installation

The box measures 16.07 × 2.95 × 10.24 in. It mounts on the wall, vertically, in a dry location, at least 150 mm above the floor, with 180 mm of clearance around it. The T1 sensor cable must not exceed 7 m. Depending on the thermostat, some functions are not available; Élios recommends the MI3C1 mini interface when it is suitable.

The LI2C1 lets indoor equipment run by a 24 V thermostat talk to an Élios inverter outdoor unit.

What to know before installing

  • The box mounts on the wall, upright, in a dry spot, at least 150 mm off the floor with 180 mm clearance around it.

  • Some functions are unavailable depending on the thermostat; Élios recommends the MI3C1 mini interface when it fits.
