Fantech RTS wall timers go in the bathroom, the laundry room or the kitchen and switch the air exchanger to high speed for a set time. One press of the button and the unit exhausts the steam from the shower; when the time is up, it goes back to its usual setting on its own.
When the air exchanger replaces the bathroom fan
In many newer houses, the bathrooms are connected to the air exchanger rather than to a ceiling fan. The wall timer then gives occupants the same habit as before: a button at the entrance to the room to clear the humidity, without touching the main control.
Four models
- RTS2: 20 minutes, LED indicator.
- RTS3: 20, 40 or 60 minutes, LED indicator.
- RTS5: 20, 40 or 60 minutes, LED indicator.
- RTSW: 20, 40 or 60 minutes, wireless.
Wired or wireless
The RTS2, RTS3 and RTS5 models are wired to the air exchanger; they suit new construction or a room where the wire is already run. The wireless RTSW avoids opening walls in a finished house. Depending on the exchanger, you can install one timer per bathroom. Send us the model number of your unit: we confirm the right timer model.

What to know before installing
- Check that your air exchanger accepts these timers: send us its model number.
- RTS2, RTS3 and RTS5 are wired to the unit; RTSW is wireless.

- Shut off power to the air exchanger before any wiring.

Does the RTS timer work with my air exchanger?
Fantech wall controls are designed for specific air exchangers. Send us the brand and model number of your unit (on the nameplate) and we confirm compatibility before ordering.
RTS3 or RTS5?
Both offer 20, 40 or 60 minutes with an LED. The right one depends on your air exchanger; we confirm it from the model number.
Why pick the wireless model?
The RTSW avoids opening walls to run a wire to the bathroom, handy in a finished home.
Can you install it?
